MCSC Pic (better late than never)

Finally, a half-decent pic of my MCSC (now a month old). This is my wife with the car in Zion National Park (Utah). A spectacular car in a spectacular setting. Cruising through the mile-long tunnel sans top was a slightly creepy experience. Nice twisties in the park too.

Great picture!

The MINI convertibles look especially good in red.

Happy Motoring!

Love the Red MCSC. Looks good. Thanks for sharing. Where is the location? I would love to drive in a mile long tunnel!

Zion National Park is a short drive north from St. George, Utah, which in turn is not too far north of Las Vegas. I'd never been before, and after seeing it, wished I had planned to spend more time. I'll definitely be heading back.

Since we're so far from "The Dragon," perhaps we Westerners need our own MINI jubilee closer to home. Southern Utah would be a beautiful spot.

Great idea. I'd be in on that in a heartbeat. Zion - Bryce - Arches - Escalante loop would be a great motoring experience - followed by a night of debauchery in Vegas!

Count us in!

I really want to go on a Zion/Bryce/Arches/Escalante MINI run, too! Fall might be a nice time...not as many tourists and milder temperatures!

Edit: Ooops! Forgot to say love the piccie, LagunaSol! Got any more?

No other decent pics yet. Shame on me. But I've been too busy driving. Not to mention the rainy spring we've been having to wreck the photo opportunities.

"MINIs in Zion" - sounds like a good Dragon alternative to me. Of course we couldn't go racing through the park like a pack of crazed rally drivers (unlike the Dragon), but it's so beautiful there I doubt anyone would care. I should post a new thread to see if anyone would be interested. Fall sounds like a great time. A line of MINIs through the tunnel would be a sonic delight. And there's a great little collection of inns and restaurants at the entrance to the park. Throw in a little hiking too - sounds like the perfect way to spend a weekend.

Yes, I think this will be one of those times where sight-seeing and enjoying the natural beauty will override spirited driving! Thanks for looking into this for us. I think a Thursday - Sunday time frame would be nice!

MINIs in Zion....only 1200 miles due south from Calgary. Sounds like a great fall road trip!!

Just 1700 miles from Winnipeg, Lottie!! You drive that every week!!

Beautiful car! You know, I see a lot of these newer options (the wheels on your car, for example) in the MINI catalog or on MINIUSA and I think I hate them, but then I see them as part of a tastefully designed car, and they look great!

By the way, how come we don't get a picture of what the boot looks like after all those dusty gravel twisties?

There is a "hike" up Angel's Point (?) in Zion that was scarier than a new Mustang in the twisties! Had to do it twice, because the first time four of us went up, we all turned around before the final push to the point which is a razorback that falls a couple of thousand feet on each side and is about 3 feet wide. Got back to camp with our tail between our legs, so two of us decided it would be better to plummet to our death than live with the shame so we turned around and did it !!! And the trip back from the point was gnarlier than the trip up!!!

As others have suggested, Fall would be a most excellent time for MINIs in Zion! I do think a night in Vegas would provide the perfect yin and yang to the unbelievable natural scenery of southern Utah.

Minis in Zion, let's do it on August 1-3, if for no other reason than the fact that I will be there with my MINI all of the way from Jerz!

Any other suggestions of what MINI oriented people would enjoy doing in this park?
