a friend of mine has ordered a chili red MCSC and wants white mirror covers. Long Beach MINI told her she can't have white mirror covers unless she gets white wheels. (she doesn't want white wheels.) they told her she has to do red mirrors. does this sound right? why would they not let her have white mirrors?

 

I believe (I don't remember) that the white wheels and mirror caps come as a package. But I also believe that on hard top cars I have seen white mirror caps (with the white roof) and silver wheels. May just be something on the convertible. You can check this on the MINIUSA site-by building one and looking at the options.

 

Lots of things are "just the way they are" when ordering a MINI - which is surprising since you can get so close to ordering anything you want, but some things are just not allowed.

But you could get the dealership to fit white mirror caps when the car arrives - if they are a nice dealership they will hopefully do it for minimal labor.

Or go for chrome - they look very nice on red :smile:

 

If you are handy, the cheapest option might be to swap the mirror covers with someone who would like to trade, or buy a set from somebody who upgraded their mirror covers.
