R52 stripes on a convertible?
#51
Trust me, Paul, no stripes in the world are going to break up the swirlies enough to make me happy. So stripes, or no stripes, I'm going to be using the PC on Dr Evil every six months. In between, do the best I can to minimize them and hide them with some Speed Shine.
Yeah, you're right, those lighter colors do have that advantage. When their polished, darker colors can't be beat for reflection and shine but boy, they don't let you get lazy !

Me no think so good.
Me think not so good, either.
Better to leave them stealthy on your car...
But easy to test... get some red poster board and cut some dummies and tape in there... then post a pic...
I can say from personal experience... painting those things SUCKS... (because they're similar construction as the front lower grille). And it'll look AWFUL if you don't paint just the grille surface red and leave the "bottoms" of the cells black... might as well just stick red poster board in there...

Yeah... but you either need to use a roller and CAREFULLY roll just the top faces of the grille mesh (so the bottom of the cells remain black), or spray them very well from every angle so all sides of every cell are fully painted, then meticulously re-paint the "floors" of each cell black using a tiny artist's brush and an infinite amount of patience. Been there, lived that.
