S 'vert Mods
Greetings from Istanbul...
I joined the mini owners community last week when I received my Blue Metallic S cabrio.
The only OEM I am missing in the car I liked is the Driving Lights and I would like to buy. Any source you would suggest with a good price? Any other suggestions instead which looks as good is appreciated.
Also I plan to add M7 USS and Strut Brace when I have a chance.
Any other mod you would suggest that will give good gains with marginal spending? I am not after huge HP increases and also do not want to hurt any warranty for marginal improvements. But I do not want to miss anything obvious.
Thanks in advance...

Welcome and congratulations on your new MINI!
I used Hella Optilux 2500 driving lights because I wanted the "angel eyes" accent light, but I realize that they're not for everyone. There are several options out there - just search for "driving lights" and you'll be presented with many options. MINI makes an OEM kit, of course, but it's much procier than most of the aftermarket solutions out there.
See THIS THREAD, post #166 for a list of my (extensive) MODs, many with How-tos and lots of pics. there's an instalation How-to for driving lights and bonnet (hood) mount brackets in my thread.
As for "good gains with moderate spending", here are the MODs that most cabrio people seem to like to do to improve performance:
15% supercharger reduction pulley - adds 15+ HP w/o having to re-tune the car
M7 USS (understrut system) - stiffens chassis, reduces understeer
Alta cold air intake box MOD
Stiffer sway bars
Of course, the Cooper S is pretty zippy without any of this stuff, so it's completely optional. I'm having my 15% pulley installed in April.
Happy MODding!!
