Roll Bar Bling

Just noticed in some pics here that some roll bars have chrome covers on the top, some have black covers on the top. What gives?

It's part of the interior Chrome package. It is also available from the dealer/aftermarket as a addition.

Exterior Chrome (possibly)

This is an '05 MCc that I photographed. It had exterior chrome, but no interior chrome.

I think it's standard on all MCSc and optional with MCc (exterior chrome).

Yes, it's available as an option from the dealership or can be purchased from sites like Outmotoring. I've been looking at picking a pair up myself.

I searched on Outmotoring but could not find them. Of course it would help if I actually knew what this part is called formally. If any of you guys buy the chrome ones & I am looking for some flat black ones & will gladly buy yours or MBE we could trade

I was going to do this and contacted one of the NAM Vendors (Classic MINI) about the cost. The roll bar covers are 4 pieces(front piece for each side and back piece for each side), and I was quoted $17.00 for each piece. I just went through my emails to see if I still had it since it had part numbers, but apparently I deleted it after I decided not to do this mod.

I see them thanks. How do you do the removal & installation? In my case I will be removing chrome & replacing with flat black so can I assume the flat black are just covers too?

I wish I would have know that a couple of weeks ago, bamatt! I would have swapped with you. I just put headrest decals on, and to remove the headrest to change the covers, you have to remove a screw on the back of the headrest, now covered by the decal.

Yes the black are covers also. bamatt, sent you a PM.

As I understand it, you remove the headrest(screw behind headrest), then remove the long trim pieces that are below the roll bar and beside headrests, then remove the roll bar covers.
