Yep, its been a pretty rough week for cabrios. Every time I put the top down it starts to sprinkle. The good news is I did confirm what some of the other cabrio owners have said, as long as you're moving (and the side windows up) you stay pretty dry no matter how hard its raining. Those red lights are problematic though.

Bob, please post a pic of your windscreen once you have it on. I like the way it turned out with the off-white stitching.
Thanks,
Ev

Hi everyone,
I just found out today that the Cabrio seats come in two versions, Sport and non-sport (not including the Sidewalk, ok that's three). The headrests are different so the windscreen will not fit properly on the non-sport headrests as it will be too loose. I will be getting a hold of a non-sport headrest in the next couple of days so I'll have that available for the non-sport seat owners.

Here are the aprox. measurements for reference:
Sport headrest:--------7-1/2" H X 9-1/2" W.
Non sport headrest ----6" H X 9" W.
I will post some pics.

For ordering please specify your headrest or seat configuration.

If you have the non-sport version and you received/order the windscreen, please contact me so I can rectify the error.
Thanks,
Ev

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I was caught it a rain on the highway recently and ended up totally drenched in about 5-10 minutes. The side windows were up and I was going reasonably fast. The raindrops were pretty big but I've seen worse rainfalls. No idea why it happened that time as I've driven in the rain with the top down before and arrived at my destination relatively dry. Luckily I was on my way home and not driving to work.

I got my windscreen from Ev on Friday and drove about an hour and a half with it yesterday. I had never had a windscreen and had my doubts about how much difference one would make. I could never bring myself to fork over 400 bucks for the OEM version but, based on comments on this site, I decided I would try this one. Man, is it great! It is obviously very well made and makes a world of difference. Thanks Ev. This is one great product.

You're welcome Richard! I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I will try and post some pics of some others we've just finished. Black/off-white stitching, black/red and black/orange.

The latest and greatest

Ev, has done it again. He went out and found a color match for my new sidewalk and made a great windscreen. It looks, works and fits great. The vinyl trim is so close you can't tell the difference between it and the leather interior. Thanks again Ev for all your help! I thought some of the other sidewalk owners might be interested so here are some pics

Thanks for posting the pics John. Your car looks great and the interior is pure luxury. I wish Mini had offer that color combo back when I got mine.

Yeah, a, uh, friend of mine had a, uh, problem and surgery in that area and Vicodin was much appreciated.

So we attached the windscreen and even with the passenger head rest up like Jay likes and the seat back, it doesn't seem to pull or look weird. I like it alot. Great product. I think I am the first in my area to get one, and I already know of two people who want to know how I like it. I will attempt tomorrow to drive without my MINI hat to see just how much the decreased wind is with my long hair... Can't wait! Makes me want to go for a drive now...

HOLLLLLLY COWWWWW What a difference!:thumbsup : Having never driven with the way overpriced OEM one, I for one am SO happy I got this! I can't believe what a difference it makes! I talked on the phone this morning the entire way home with my hubby and he didn't even realize till he passed me going the other way that I had the top down! LOVE IT! I recommend this to anyone and everyone who has a cabrio!
And to boot, my hair didn't get caught in any velcro, didn't fly around my face like a whip, and I only had to wear my hat because of the angle of the sun when I drive is right above my windshield and directly above my glasses. But I am NEVER taking this thing down!

Stacey, thanks for answering just about every single question I can think of! I've got long hair too and I bet if anyone disassembled the seatbelt rollers in my Jeep, they'd find them full of blonde hairs. Getting the knots out after riding in our CoopahS with the sunroof and windows open is nearly impossible. But I HAVE to get a Cabrio. If I had any doubts, the Sidewalk model becoming available made the decision for me!

So is anyone driving their Cabrio with the new windscreen attached to Minis in the Mountains?

Hi folks -

I just picked up my windscreen this morning. Ev and I met up at our local Guitar Center which was a convenient meeting place right off the freeway (ok, ok, I had to pick up a few goodies.

Anyways, just wanted to add that this is an awesome product and at a fair price. The quality is top notch. I can't imagine spending $400 on the OEM one, let alone, not being able to have any rear seat passengers.

Thanks again Ev. Keep listening to what the customers' want and you'll be totally successful with this and other products you may sell in the future.

By the way ya'll, Ev's car is totally sweet. That cool blue is wayyy cool.

- Eric

Thanks Ev.

by the way, it's another GIRL.

Anyone have any experience with an infant car seat in the back of the cabrio? We have the peg perego (smaller than most). hopefully we can get it to fit back there, along with big sister's booster seat, and of course, wind protected by Ev's windscreen.

EV, have you started selling these windscreens for BMW Z3/4's. Saw one here in VA on a Z4 that looks just like design you sell for our MINI's? Are you branching out?
