Looking at the back seat. It looks like it may have seating for three!? The one pic shows the belt between the child latch points. Is this not for U.S. sale? Does anyone have anymore interior shots?

 

Motoringfile has reported that overseas will get the three across seating in the rear while the US will not. I think the silver roof and various body colors really look terrific on this car. Don't get so upset at the rear end yet as you really can't tell what it will look like without the camouflage cladding.

 

One of those is almost certainly Nightfire Red, by the by.

Those were the first rear interior shots I've seen, but then ya gotta' throw that Europe/US wrench in there!

 

So will these have more powerful engines to accomodate the extra weight?

 

that front seat material looks like some type of waterproof covering ... or is that something that's available on the R56 now? can anyone confirm?

No, I think the all colors look great, especially with that silver roof!! One may not initially like the rear wipers, but I say it's best to remember those things will come in real handy in nasty weather and still allow use of those wonderfully practical rear doors. I'd be keeping those wipers right where they are!!!

 

Looks like the maxi-MINI will finally be a 2+2 instead of a 2+1 (I'm kinda tall so you had to sit cross-legged behind the driver). Nice colour - I miss the velvet red that was originally available.

 

i don't think there will be that much more room behind us tall fellas ... but it would be nice if it was possible.

It would be great if a car like the Clubman would have adjustable rear seats ... move'em back if you need more legroom ... move-em forward if you need more storage space in the boot.

 

Check out the new 'seat release' handle on the upper part of the passenger seat.....should make getting in and out easier.

 

yeah, its the same seat release as on the R56 ...

 

That looks like Nightfire Red that's available on the R56 Cooper on two of those cars.

 

Does it have a split rear door?

coupla thoughts:

1) Will the silver roofs be an option on 2008 Coopers?

2) None of the Clubmen (or should that be "Clubmans" ) seem to have stripes. (One vehicle in the extra wide shot does, but both in its proportions and the fact that it has a real license tag I suspect that it's an R56 Cooper S). Will stripes be available as an option on the Clubman?

 

Don't know about the stripes, but Gabe @ Motoringfile reported in February that the Silver roof will be a Clubman exclusive (for the upcoming model year at least).

Yes, and the silver roof will work so well w/ these Clubman-exclusive colors. Hot Chocolate will look great in the same way as the subdued Solar Red and Space Blue did with silver roofs. Every MINI-variant deserves it's place in the sun, and the cabrio and Clubman will get their chances to shine in '08. Personally, I have no problem with that!!!

 

Don't see why not. If not from the factory, then you could always buy them as a dealer accessory when ordering the car.

Nope, that's just camoflauge because they haven't "officially" released images of the contrasting boot section yet.

I think the sunroof is the same we enjoy- it's just the larger rear area that is making the sunroof look smaller. The difference demonstrates well the additional room in the rear area of the clubman. It looks like they are sticking with the one rear door- I can hear the jeers of some auto mags now but it will work and make entry to the rear seats easier.

 

I saw one a Blue Clubman Saturday on the M4 going towards Bristol, UK. It's ashame my camera was in the trunk at the time.
