I hate brown cars! Furthermore the rear of the clubman looks ordinary and the sides are as slab like as an R56. However, the R56 gets away with it because the sides are shorter.
As I posted on another Clubman thread, suicide doors suck. Try getting in and out of the back while parked next to another car. Ask any Honda Element owner. They're nothing if not inconvenient and frustrating.
My guess is they will call the "maroon" color something more classy like Merlot. Over I'd say it's growing on me. I think I'll wait out the first rush and get an order in when they are offered with the full compliment of features as the dealers were informed that certain options would not be available immediately.

If they called that brown "dark Belgian chocolate" brown - I'd be tempted. I have a feeling MINI marketers won't call it poop brown
I'm heading back to the US end of January... I've been talking to my dealer about ordering one... I've been in Australia for 1 year without a car (I rent weekends)!!! Argh!
I used to work for UPS so that brown colour might remind me too much of work!
You said that a few months ago... look up a few posts.
That's what you call a contributor
Snid.....box is in the mail coming your way. Should be there early next week....i drew the MU arrow on it so you wouldn't think some random stranger was sending you a gift
Yes they had a grand party at Schafer Mini in Kaiserslautern Germany this afternoon. I took numerous photo's of the Clubman Cooper, Clubman S and Clubman D. I was also there to see if my US SPEC MCS arrived but did not see it on the garage lot. I did some late night snooping after finding out that they had a 2nd storage lot under lock and key and I think I spotted my car there. I will be back at 0900 am to check.
The cars were great. I really liked the extra room in the back seat. Great if you have adult guests. One design flaw I think they need to work on is the center pillar on the back doors. When you look in the rear view mirror it is a distraction. I would expect BMW to solve this by the next revision. I would love to buy the Diesel version at 65 miles per gallon. You have allot more choices on colors and interior fabrics then what you are provided by US mini .
Here it is....appears to be in the same position at the end of the line of cones...but its getting a better angle of light. I definitely think its the same "maroon" caolor. I think this is the picture right before the other one. The brown is right behind the red, they just havent made the turn yet. And so much for calling the sunroof "small" that thing looks HUGE from this angle
Here is how the real chocolate rear end looks after the factory is done with it.
