i live in SoCal and bought mine out of state because I was displeased with the pricing at all the SoCal dealerships (and I called them all). Hope others have good luck in this region...was a pretty disgruntling experience for me.

Plus now I get to take my baby straight from the dealer to a 3K mile drive on Rt 66 that ends at the Santa Monica Pier.

Deja Vu!

Mini of Mountain View in the SF Bay Area is selling Clubman Ss at $2,500 over MSRP, and Clubmans at $1,500 over, I think. Maybe it's just one grand. FWIW, MoMV had mark-ups pretty much till the 07s showed up...

When I got my 02, I heard prices all over the place and ended up at Mini of Murray outside of Salt Lake.

Did you possibly mean $300.00 under MSRP?
My mistake with the words - it was 300 under MSRP not invoice.

launch cars also dont have the MFSW (or Cruise) which is sad. BTW I took out a C-S on a lengthy test drive and all I have to say is this: needs AWD to get around that torque steer and front wheel spin. Needs AWD bad bad bad....

Even Long Beach? they've always sold at msrp max, but there's always been a wait.

Not all launch cars came without MFSW and Cruise Control. Mine was a launch car (that no customer other than me even got to see) and has both cruise control and MFSW.

yrs is not a "launch" car, you have one of the first production Clubmans in the US. That when U said "no other customer other than me even got to see" was the giveaway--launch cars are intended to be scrutinized and demo'd by the public, that's their sole purpose, as a sales tool. And all the launch cars at my d'ship are equipped the same--and none of them have the MFSW.

The concept of waiting shook me to my very soul. But I didn't realize they weren't charging extra for a special order...maybe I talked to the wrong person or crossed a wire or something.

My window sticker says launch package--my dealership sold the launch cars if someone wanted them.

All the pre-spec cars sent to every dealer were in the same configurations. They were meant to be sold, used as demo's or whatever else that the dealer wanted to use them for. Some had the MFSW & some did not. Not the smartest thing to do IMHO, but what somebody at MINI decided.

Here's some info on them: http://www.motoringfile.com/2007/09/...-us-pre-specs/

Including a link to the breakdowns: http://motoringfile.com/files/clubman_prespecced.pdf
