I have to agree! I actually don't even have to touch my paint, but it's not as dirty as yours gets. For really dirty cars I'll foam it twice before washing with a mitt if needed. I'm using about 2oz of Meguiar's HyperWash solution here. I put 4 to 5oz of soap in the bottle and fill the rest with water. I use about half the bottle for each wash. My PW is a Kranzle 2000psi model set to about 1400 psi. I use the Autobrite foam lance.
When my car isn't really dirty, say to do a second wash during the week when it's dusty, using Prima Mystique works great. Doesn't foam as much but leaves a really nice shine without much effort.
Today I worked on a Hyundai Genesis
After about 10 minutes the foam slides off to the ground carrying all the dirt
Then it's rinsed off with the PW
This is what my foam lance looks like

It is absolutely amazing, the picture really doesn't do its justice because i took it a minute or so after initial foaming. It goes on so thick and it truly is a difference when your washing, its hard to describe but the wash mit glides across the paint rather then drag's.
I have the foam gun that attaches to my small pressure washer which does a much better job then one you just attach to your hose. It takes a little bit to get your soap to water ratio just right but once you do the foam is thick and all around makes washing a much more pleasant experience, also puts your mind at ease knowing you have enough foam and suds so you wont scratch your paint, especially for a black car its a bit pricey but well worth the price!

Hey, look! we have the same foam lance haha.
Wait, seriously you dont take a mit to your cars? What i do is shoot it with foam wait 3-5 minutes then hose it off and then shoot it again and use my mit. In the summer when all this miserable salt goes away im going to have to try and just foam it. But then we get the bugs pretty bad so its still going to have to be "agitated"
I just got onto using Adams Polishes and absolutely LOVE there soap, it foams really really nice. Auto Glym'es foams really good too but its really pricey haha

Yep, no need for a mitt. Well I did a super dirty Toyota Tacoma pickup recently, and foamed it twice and still had a light film that needed a mitt, so that's why I could see you still need a mitt.
I use Meguiar's HyperWash when things are dirty. With a 400:1 ratio and sold by the gallon, it's SUPER SUDSY with just 4 to 5 oz. I also use Prima Mystique which has much less foam, but results in a shinier paint for when the cars are less dirty and for maintenance washes. =)
