Great looking MY/BLK Clubman and I agree that your last shot shows how nicely the roof rails work. And may I ask if you named him Arlo after Arlo Guthrie?

No, but...

Well maybe sort of. It is actually a very long story. The short story is that not really, but you can't say Arlo without thinking of Arlo Guthrie, or at least I can't, so in some way maybe.

I actually have a son named Guthrie (old family name) and there was no way that my wife would let me name another son Arlo, but a car is fine. Truth is that it really fits the car.

Thanks all for the comments. I am really loving the roof rails, think that I made the right choice.

Are the sideskirts all painted or was the black texture still there? The pics look a little mismatched, but it might be the lighting.

Lower it

No, they are not painted. When I ordered the car I was under the impression that they came painted. Those pics on MINIUSA can be very misleading. So now I've got to find someone to paint those locally. The guy that did the arches doesn't like to do the side pieces simply because he's afraid they'll get damaged in shipping; they are so long and awkward. So, for now, I've gotta wait. And, I plan to lower it, but not until they develop a system that will not compromise ride quality. I chose not to have a car that rides like crap just to get rid of a gap, lol.

Thanks!

I am so glad I did it and would do it again in a heartbeat. It's my favorite mod to date.

Darth ... looking good. Like the LP too

this is my dillema as well ... i want to lower my Clubman and go aftermarket on the wheels but the NYC daily grind and the fact that my car is loaded most of the time makes me always think.

Thanks!

I promise there is a good story behind the LP but it would be too lengthy to explain here. But, I will say that in a few months it will make more sense.

Oh, and I went to an auto parts store after I got my plate, and I found this frame:

Oh, c'mon! How perfect is that?!? I had to buy it!

Thanks, Otra! To be honest finding wheels that would work with the MINI and that went with what I wanted was a pain in the neck. But, what a sweet pay-off! I love the way it all turned out.

Oh yeah, he's definitely the sexiest Clubman I've ever laid eyes on, lol!

If you decided to paint the arches on LadyG, I would say go with black, a black to match the rear pillars. But if you do that don't just paint the arches- I would paint all the plastic around the perimeter so it all flows. I think that would be hot!!!

Any of the coilovers will lower the car without compromising ride quality (i.e. not riding on the bumpstops like lowering springs). KW V1's ride really smooth, go relaly low, and come at a pretty cheap price for coilovers.

Looks sweet!! Congrats. Had the yellow been available on the S model, it would've been my first choice over the Hot Chocolate.

Took delivery of my Clubman S this past Monday: it's fantastic! It's been so long since I test drove one (last March) that I forgot how small and nimble it is! I had ordered the anthracite headliner but it was not installed (see this thread). Also had a hole in one of the sport stripe stickers on my bonnet Thankfully, both are being resolved with a follow up visit later this month.

I'm getting used to driving a Mini after having a Saturn SL2 for 8 years (UGH!). Seems like I keep lurching when accelerating from a stop, which seems odd because this is an automatic transmission. Not sure if it's the gas, the car, or the driver

Pics!

Great interior! And the outside is kinda nice, too. Congratulations!!

I have an automatic and don't have any of those lurching issues, but mine is not an S. If I were you, I'd start a new thread with a title that will accurately reflect your issue: "Auto S...." That will catch some eyes, and you'll get more attention there since this is basically a "cake walk" celebration thread.

By the way, be sure to add couple of photos to the Clubman Flickr Pool http://www.flickr.com/groups/mini_clubman/too. I like your close up of the MINI logo within your silver stripes.

P.S. And MrOtto - Arlo needs to get in there too: http://www.flickr.com/groups/mini_clubman/

I feel like I am the purveyor of the Clubman Pool...but it's such a great resource for those who are considering buying, and the rest of us can enjoy it, too.

Holy Awesome Clubmans (or is it Clubmen?) Batman! Congratulations on your cars! None for a long time and then a lot! Very nice!

I've washed mine 2x in 2 weeks and then got annoyed with the stuff that I have and order a starter kit of Prima...

The addiction has really begun
