All Clubmans are Green!

According to the environmental advocacy group the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper Clubman are among the top ten overall efficient cars sold in the USA.

The scale is from 1-100, but the "greenest" car only scores a 57, so I guess they're leaving room for future electric and hydrogen powered vehicles.

Still, it's another reason to smile while driving your MINI!

The site is www.greenercars.org.

From the site:

GreenerCars.org will help you select the vehicle that is most friendly to the planet while meeting your transportation needs. Based on official emissions and fuel-economy tests, and other specifications reported by auto manufacturers, we calculate a Green Score for each car, minivan, pickup, and SUV on the market. The Green Score falls on a scale of zero to 100. A higher score implies a greener car, meaning a vehicle having a lower environmental impact.

I love green Clubmans! I drive by the domestic car dealerships along with Toyota and Nissan and I see so many trucks sitting there unsold. I hope that is the trend. With all of our technology, family trucks are still getting below 20 mpg! I am not for this higher fuel but if it makes people decide to purchase greener vehicles, great. (green doesn't mean just fuel effecient, environmentally friendly all the way around)

I would have posted the complete list of "green" cars from the greenercars.org site, but my limited PC skills resulted in a cut-and-paste that looked like hieroglyphics, and I'm too lazy to retype the list.

The only thing out there that gets better mileage is a hybrid or a SmartCar. The Yaris is close though.
