I was no. 1 on the list at Scottsdale as I had a deposit down since Jan. 4, 2006. Mine is also Chili Red, but with black. I'm in love with my Otto. He is wonderful. Who was your MA? Mine was Drew. He stuck with me for 782 days on my wait.
I picked mine up this past Monday. Only one problem. I don't want to get out of it to go into the house or my shop. I had to use the Suburban yesterday, but went out to say goodbye to him in the garage in back.
Fantastic car. Now I want a 2009 Cabrio too!
I have a photo of Otto on my gallery.

Got Production Number
So we got our production number today. Our MA is a combo of Drew and Brian. We did our original test drive with Drew but he was not working the day we went up to order. Brian subbed on the order process. The only thing we almost didn't get was the chrome line exterior but I called today to add it before they ordered. I don't have a production week yet, they still think it is about week 15. The next milestone is the order switching from Silver to Chili Red on the Owner's Lounge.

Brian is nice too. I met him on the day we picked up Otto. I think I also spoke with him when Drew was out on a test drive.
My test drive a year ago was about 5 minutes long. That was all it took for me to realize the S of any sort would be perfect.
After you get your production number the real fun begins. It is an amazing exerience to watch the build progression and then shipment to Southampton to await a ride. Tracking your car is pure unadulterated fun.
The hardest part for me was the long ocean voyage to the Panama Canal, but then for our Week 3 group it was a fantastic day watching the Isolde go through the locks. Two of our group put together a video of it which I now have copies of.
It is nerve wracking once your ship docks and you lose track of your MINI until Scottsdale calls. I'd still do it all over again compared to going in and picking a car out of the lot. This was great and the MAs are very patient with us.
Now I'm waiting to be put on the list for a 2009 Cabrio. The MINI bug has bitten me hard.
