Clubman S Insurance?

I just call my insurance (AAA) and said that I am replacing my 2005 BMW X3 to a Clubman S, the guy said that they still don't have the Clubman in their database He did quote me for the price of the Cooper S and it is like $124 more per year (my X3 cost me about $1000 per year). Anyone can share their experience? I am in SoCal by the way.

We have State Farm and they did not have the Clubman on their list and came up with a Golf mobile which did not set well with my husband. Eventially we were able to get the model straight and it is now called the Clubman. The premium is no more than our CooperS of the same year. Our Clubman is an S also.

We have AARP Hartford. Came up with $650/yr. My BMW convertible is $600/year so I'm happy. I think it helps to have 4 cars with them.

We have USAA and we are not paying anymore for the MCS Clubman than we were for our MCS - about $600 a year.

I was driving away in my new Clubbie from the dealer last week and I called USAA to add the vehicle. It too wasn't in their data base. The next day I got the quote but I will have to look at it again to see what the change is from my 2005 MC. I don't think it changed much at all.

We're paying $498 for the year for our 04 MC through PatronsOxford (a Maine based company), but I haven't got a quote yet on what it will cost for the Clubman.

Progressive was quoting me $1350/year for an S Clubman and my wife's 325ci. I went with a non S, but Progressive said they didn't really care what the motor was. BTW, this is a $1k drop per year compared to my Pathfinder and BMW with Geico.

those prices are very innexpensive. I was qouted $2000/year ... in NYC however, which I consider cheap through Geico (athough it looks like I should shop around)
How are you guys getting $600 for full coverage?

We're probably older & never have claims. And it doesn't hurt to have the factory installed alarm system too.

interesting differences ...

Although listing a price and not the limits & deductable, & extras ( driving record) is like saying dinner was $50...

OK ...well what did you eat

I'm going to put this on a hot key so I don't have to type it out so many times:

YOU CANNOT COMPARE YOUR RATES TO ANYONE ELSE'S.

Okay... I'll let someone who is not an insurance professional show off and tell everyone why that statement is true. There's a lot of bright people on this board so I know someone will list most of the reasons.

I had the chicken, my wife had the fish. I think that's off-topic, though.

Did you READ the thread AND the content AND the comment form more than one ...saying you cant compair insurance without the facts?

The point I was making ... was that if you said dinner was $50 and were complaining about the price ONLY ..That is not enough info for a discussion ..You may have been at the best place in town or the local hamburger place.

You see it is an example of NOT knowing the important information

I really can't believe that you think I wanted to know what YOU had for dinner.

State Farm entered mine temporarily as a Cooper S

They gave me the Cooper S rate and said once the Clubman is in the system I will probably get an adjustment. Mine went up $120 a year from the cost for the Hummer I replaced.
