NOTHING and it is hurting!! I have been trying to sell a 2006 Volvo S-60 but no one wants it. I may have to wholesale it and then probably have to give up my mistress---a 2001 Audi TT roadster with only 15,000 miles. Talk about ambivolence.
Me: Infiniti Q45 (QZILLA) -> 2005 MCS (Blooper) -> 2007 MCS (Sputnik)
Wife: Toyota Celica -> 2004 MC (Red Dwarf) -> 2005 MCS (Blooper)
Us: About to sell the '04 Nissan Murano, considering a 2002 BMW Z3 M Roadster
It hasn't happened yet, but my little 5.5 year old Cooper will be traded in for my Clubman that is sitting at the dealer right now. Gonna spend most of today taking all the mods off and cleaning it up. Sad to see it go, but I think the clubman will be a great car
I kind of cheated. While I got rid of my 03 Ford F250 Superduty, Crewcab, I bought a cheap $4000.00 pickup to do my hauling. ( I live in the country & have a small farm).
2002 Toyota Camry in lunar mist metallic (silver). A great car, but ubiquitous on the American road. The Clubman certainly stands out more, not that I'm seeking attention. I love the MINI.
I'm going to unload my 2001 GMC Yukon. The Yukon has served me well so far (104K), but with a 54 mile a day commute, 14mpg just doesn't cut it. I'm looking forward to a more fun commute when my Clubman comes in June.

That thing is sick! I cant wait to see pics of your Clubman!!! I may follow in your footsteps if it looks that killer!!
I have to believe that all of us that are getting out of bigger car or trucks are getting out just in the nick of time. Sheet steel has increased 25% in the past 3 months, the US dollar continues to drop and gas prices continue to climb.
I suspect in about 6 months, multiple problems will be squeezing people from all sides. Car prices will be higher in general, fuel -efficient car prices will be incrementaly higher, and trade-in values for fuel hogs will be rock bottom. I would not be surprised if dealers quit taking some vehicles all together on trade. A lot of people are going to be stuck in cars/trucks that suck gas.
I would not be surprised to see a rash of 1 car "accidents" involving gas guzzlers as people would rather take a $1000 hit on their auto insurance vs. a $5000 hit on their trade-in.
Traded in my 2000 540i 6spd with 87500 miles. Let see the numerous problems, windshield cover (big problem on e39), radiator (cracked upper neck due to poor design of top hose from engine to radiator), fan clutch, blower resistor, expansion tank crack, cam position sensors (both), motor mounts, fuel filter, rear intake manifold cover, leaking valve cover gaskets, changed clamps on hose to power steering fluid tank, transmission mounts, 14 mpg average, and of course the dusty BMW brake pads (they were the first to go, just like on my Clubman). I purchased the 540i with 45000 miles used from an original owner 2.5 years ago, there also was some sludging in the engine but i was able to clean that with LubroMoly and Mobil1. I will not wait till the 10000 mile limit to change the Clubman's oil, 3000 miles is it for me and the oil has go to be replaced. I hope BMW did not use the same engineers for the Clubman as they did for the 540i or else I will be in a world of hurt. Otherwise I do not miss the 540.
nothing yet but will get rid of a 99 olds alero. My son will be driving in a few years so he will get the clubman then and I will get an s version of a new mini.
I got rid (sorta) of my '03 Cooper to get my '07 Cooper. My daughter now owns the '03 which she proudly motors in...and parks in my driveway...each day.

that looks awesome! nobody wants to buy it with those mods? hard to believe ...
I came from an 03 MC and sold it last year miles before the warranty went out (weary of the CVT issue and needing a bigger car) and bought an 08 Mazda3 hatchback.
Put a deposit on an HC MC Clubman this past weekend ... the Mazda has been great but am getting really poor 16-18mpgs in the city with it (consistently) and also the Clubman got me hooked again AND will provide that little bit of extra room I needed.
Trading my '06 MC CVT for the soon to be here Clubman. Rationalizations, I mean, reasons - more space for passengers/stuff and leaving the CVT for the newer and better automatic transmission.
My mom wanted my 2006 Toyota 4Runner sport edition, and with gas prcies etc (not to mention my EXTREME lack of parking space at my condos) I said "sure you can have it!!" So she got my 4Runner and I'm in turn getting my MCSa...ASAP hopefully!!!!
