I swear I found a discussion about this last week, but I can't find it now. Anyway, I just tried it last night for the first time. IT'S SO COOL! It's like something out of a movie. I had my wife flick on the window washer while I stood in front to see them work, she rolled her eyes when she saw how excited I got. Then, I had her watch while I activated them and she said "Okay, that is pretty cool".
After reading this thread, i had to do it myself and was giggling silly in the middle of the street. My fiance then had to watch and luckily, she found it just as funny
What happens? The car transforms into "Mega Maid" wearing one of those little French uniforms, pulls out a handkerchief, and a bottle of windex, and cleans the head lights for you. It's just like Spaceballs or Transformers!
I look at the Power Wash as just one more thing to go wrong with the car, so I never ordered that option. It hasn't worked on my wifes Audi TT for the last couple of years and we haven't missed it. I just don't see the point of needing it....

I wanted xenons, and you can't get xenons without it. Besides, it's covered under warranty just like every other unnecessary gadget on the car.
Yes they are covered under warranty, but I keep my cars a very long time and end up doing most repairs myself. I think xenons are nice, but not worth the extra money and they are expensive to repair when they go out. I've never found any problems with Halogens and they are still a big improvement over the old sealed beam headlights.
i used to love the little sound they make when activated. you could hear it in the cabin of the R53, not sure if you can anymore.
btw, the self-leveling feature AND the headlight washers I believe are required by law if the car has HiD/Xenons in European countries.
my current Mazda has Xenons, but does not have the washers nor auto leveling (it has some type of switch I can adjust the beam hight from inside the car)
The manual says they come on at a certain temp. I don't know what that temp is but other say at about 3C. I would like to control it directly but there is no switch.

ok, could be 3° C because the car then makes bonging noises
After watching the video, I have to confirm my postion on the Powerwash. It is something I don't want or think it is necessary. A motorized mechanism subject to frontal impacts, water lines that can leak from freezing and corrosion and who wants windshield washer fluid spraying on your paint? It is one un-necessary option.
