I gots me a VIN number!
While the car status still says "On Order", I did have a VIN number assigned to my Clubman yesterday. I guess that means it is official and I feel better about the possibility of getting this "unavilable" color combo.
I'll have to read over in "First gear" to better understand the delivery timing once a VIN number is assigned.
Cheers,
Terry

Actually, my order is "Scheduled for Production", not the "On Order" that I wrote in my original post.
I placed my order on April 21st, so this now towards the end of the third week. I wonder how long until the build is actually started? I was initially told it was a week 20 build.
Best,
Terry

Your MA should be your source for any info, he should have all your info at his fingertips.

The only thing I can find is the "track" button. I know my clubman S is "scheduled for production" but I don't know if it is further along then that.

You guys may have seen this already, but most of your questions can be answered in the first gear forum under the sticky "how to track your MINI".

Also, when you find out your production week (by calling Ask MINI or by calling your MA) you can join your support group week thread on here.

What's curious to me is how the folks answering the phones at ASK-MINI keep saying they don't have as much info at their fingertips as our MA would... In this day and age of information highway "motoring" -- shouldn't they have the same access to the same information??
Our Clubman S is "somewhere" on this side of the pond -- just not sure how much time before we get "the call" (or "the email", or whatever). Came into Charleston on the Integrity on the 4th.
>> OL says "at VDC"...
>> ASK-MINI says *shrug* "beats us... we aren't sure once it gets to UK dock -- ask your MA" ... (this after the automated status check initially said "awaiting to be loaded on a vessel"!)
>> MA doesn't say anything. He's been rather unresponsive both by voicemail and email. True -- we haven't been pressing too hard. But he only returns about one out 5 messages!
I'm jealous of all you folks with responsive and customer-centric MA's! Getting emails all the time like you are.... -- oh well. I'm not one to go over somebody's head, but that option is definitely in my back pocket.
Our Clubbie could be on the lot for all we know. We haven't even discussed financing, trade-in, etc., yet! *sigh* Just gotta focus on how fun motoring with the rest of you will be! Good vibrations to all.

clubscout,
don't feel too bad! I didn't even have a MA to ask things to.. ( I ordered through a broker, who placed the order with a dealer). I'm having a tough time now, because apparently, the dealership fired their general manager who had agreed on the price of my MINI, and now they have a new general manager who doesn't want to give us the price he quoted us. I was planning on receiving my MINI tomorrow, but now the broker says he might not be able to get it to me that soon because of the new GM.
On the bright side, I'm sure your clubbie is closer than you think! And it might actually seem like you got it faster if you just randomly receive a call one day saying that your MINI is ready for pickup! Keep hope alive! And breathe in and out, in and out.
