Oil Service reset tool for R55's?
Do the new MINIs utilize the same reset plug as on (most) all my BMW's? Meaning, do they have an oil reset/service reset indicator and do the MINIs use the 20 pin round diagnostic connector as on BMW?
I already have a Peake R5 for resetting the SII lights. Will this suffice for the MINI, or do I have to go buy ~another~ tool? Not talking about the OBD-II stuff, just the service lights.
BTW: I used to be able to reset the SII on my E30M3 using just a paper clip. For some reason, my wifes E46 wouldn't cooperate and I had to buy the reset "tool".

The part is very valuable, but you already have one (I hope).
It's called a finger (actually need two fingers and a thumb for step 2).
RE:reset service reminder
1. Push the Trip Button
2. Turn ignition key to position 1 and 51A will appear to left of mileage
3. Release trip button
4. Wait 3 seconds
5. Push trip button
6. Wait (5-8 seconds) for RST to appear in left corner
7. Release trip button
8. Push trip button
9. 15000 will appear as new service interval
10. Release trip button
Oops ... I know this works for 1st gen MINIs, does it also work for 2nd gen ones??

My wife's E46 is an early 1999 model that I have to use the reset tool on. The later E46's (late 1999 and on) reset in the same fashion you describe.
If the R55 doesn't reset with the buttons, then I'll just look at it as an excuse to buy more tools!
