chrome scoop finally installed. anthracite headliner finally installed. only took 7 months. still missing an air bag cap for the club door pillar, but other than that, the headliner surgery is complete. dealer did a great job on the install, but what was supposed to take 1 day turned into parts of 6 days over 2 consecutive weeks. mini never made a kit available for the anthracite headliner mia jobs, so the dealer had some problems getting all the right parts ordering from the catalogue. plus mini apparently kept shipping a driver side "a" pillar for the passenger side "a" pillar. dealer polished or waxed the car without my knowledge, won't admit to it, and darn near ruined the finish. hard water spots all over that don't fully come out. got white residue all over the black trim pieces, including wheel arches, boot wipers, antenna base, roof trim. caked on schmoo all over the bonnet logo and boot lettering. took me ~6 hours to get it all cleaned off. another thread user suggested getting klasse all-in-one acrylic, so i'm looking into that for my next polish job. i'm not taking any new pictures until the last air bag cap is installed though...

pushing 14k miles. 32.1 avg mpg and 41.8 avg mph. no problems other than dings/nicks all over the windshield and bonnet.

14k miles as well and about the same avg mpg.

New pics to be posted later this month... waiting to receive M7 hood scoop (ordered the turbo heatshield as well) which will be painted black and viper stripes.

here's mine with 2 color interior too.

Excuse the weirdness with the red, my camera really has trouble with intense reds. The washed-out red here and there doesn't actually look faded in real life.

Nothing new, but any excuse to bump the Chili Red thread...

Here are a few from our local club's Mini 50 celebration this past weekend:

Yes, those are all Minis in the last picture...

Well, have been the owner of a new MINI Clubman JCW for a bit over a month. The old 03 Cooper S a/c bit the dust and cost way to much to fix. Saw this thing on the lot and had to have it. So far, have been really impressed with the raw power and handling that put the old MINI to shame. The slightly longer wheelbase makes it much more comfortable, even in the sport mode than the 03. As of yet, no major quirks that I was so used to. The sunroof sticks when it gets crazy hot outside, the wiper fluid squirty things will sometimes drool again when it is crazy hot. This one has the factory black rims and so the evil brake dust is not so noticable. Will see how time and miles add up.

Have been away for a long time since my daughter has my 2002 Cooper. Today I picked up a 2008 Clubman S with just over 8k miles. Chili Red and black. No chance to get pics yet but will post soon.

Hi,

I have a CR/B clubman. Anyway, I was washing it for the first time last weekend and noticed a small adhesive line near the driver door. (Lot sticker) What should I use to get it off that won't damage the finish?

Try some WD-40, should clean it right off and will not hurt your paint. I use it to get road oil off too. Wash it off with soap and water afterwards.

Thanks so much for the welcome. Can someone help me understand all of the letters? I get the CR, S, MC, but there are others are confusing. R55, 56 etc... I am sure they are common sense but for some reason I can't get them. Thanks

They aren't all common sense...

I'm still waiting on my Clubman, so I spend alot of time in the newbie forum here. This thread may be of help to you on the letters/numbers:

Ok, so now that I am a proud owner of a Mini. I am ready for a "Mini Event" Where is the best place to find out what is going on in my local region? The Mini Owners Lounge does not have much that I have found as of yet. FYI I am on the West coast of Florida. Thanks

Larry,
I am working on the tint for my Clubman and I am hearing that I need to go ceramic due to bluetooth, etc. Your tint looks great can you tell me how dark you went with yours? Florida law requires 35% on the front and whatever on the back. I want to make sure I do not mess up my bluetooth as well. I will be tinting my sunroof as dark as I can due to the "sunshine state" Thanks
