My car had a light hit in the rear, had to bump and paint the rear doors and replace bumper cover. Lots of interior and trim pieces were missing for example I only had one of 4 fender flares, all plastic trim inside doors was missing, only one taillight , etc. Before these salvage vehicles go to insurance auction they go to body shop where they are disassembled to determine extent of damage and half the stuff never makes it back into the car. Couldn't find a donor car so most parts were bought new from dealer so I had about $2500 in parts. (Found a bumper cover on the Canadian equivalent of Ebay in Toronto for $600 delivered to Michigan). Only paid $10,500 for car. Here are a few "before" pics.
Just picked up my "experienced" 2010 Chili Red/ Silver Clubman S on Monday! I've had a couple Justa coopers and the S has some perks to be sure. Glad to be back in a Clubman. Now to decide how to 'youify' it a bit. Checkered somewhere of course (makes it faster)!
My 08 R55 had the stripes Dry and Crack.
I removed them myself and it looks good with Zero Color fading issues, but seems so strange without the stripes.
I'm Chili Red with Silver top. The OEM Stripes were Silver.
Whats your opinion of getting Silver Stripe put back on?

Well new to me. I have had my classic Mini since 1972. I bought an 08 Chili Red Clubman Cooper S with silver top and bonnet stripes. Bought it for my wife's birthday. That is my story and I am sticking to it!
I have a question. I have the comfort access, I can start the car without the fob but I can not touch the outside door handles to get it to unlock or lock. Is this common? Is it the control unit or the handles themselves.
