HI all, Seems like I've posted this all over the place only to never find it again. All the other minis & MINIS have been named OAF. My 59 Morris Mini Minor was imported from England in about 1966 and still Carries its British
plates....776 OAF. Naturally my family named it OAF. The 03 Mini S was OAF 2 then 05 was OAF 3. New Clubman just didn't fit the OAF mold. Had to come up with something More Suitbale. My 5 year old grand daughter came
up with.....The Gingerbread Man....Perfect.....run,run,as fast as you can.Catch me if you can,........perfect..... perfect...For a HC Clubman.

Jupiter
Jupiter, for several reasons:
1) Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, so naming a MINI Jupiter pokes fun at the MINI's diminutive size
2) My MINI is Chili Red and the planet Jupiter has giant red spots
3) A series of books I read as a kid featured "The Three Investigators" and one of the main characters was named Jupiter Jones. I always liked that name.
Husband & son aren't crazy about the name, but I'm sticking with it!

After working through all the kid names we didn't get around to using (like Violent and Harriet) I chose Iapetus, a crazy black and white moon of Saturn that looks just like (sort of) my PW/B clubman S. I don't think my family is going to be crazy about it either... but they are used to my astronomy madness.
clear skies,
Alan

Been thinking of names for my new Clubman and thought of "Occam's Motor",
or maybe "Occam's MINI" ... a bit obscure but a play on Occam's Razor ...
=> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor<=
which states "All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best".
It just reminded me of the MINI.
After all, the quickest path between two points is a MINI.

It will probably be something from Star Wars...maybe.
...or something French (wife and son are fluent, I am not so they will name it something I can't pronounce). We have to drive it first I guess.
/oh yea, my sister just adopted a miniature horse and named it 'Cooper', called me and said she had a Mini Cooper...cruel person.

I'm thinking of naming mine "Darth Small"
I don't have mine yet, but I put in the order a few days ago.
It is (or will be, lol) DS/B, Black Bonnet stripes, and JCW 18" Matte Black wheels. (Forgive me for not using all the neat little abbreviations, I'm still learning! )

Hehe, thanks. I thought so too, so I'm glad to see I'm not the only one!
I'm still debating on the spelling of "Small".
Any opinions on whether I should keep it spelled "Small" or change it to "Smaul"?
Or if I should add an 's' to the end (e.g. "Smalls")?
My dh is a huge Star Wars fan so he is responsible for the train of thought that led to the name.
BTW, I wanted to name him "Merle" (Great Dane's are my favorite breed!).
But when I thought of Darth Small, I had a nice giggle and knew I had found it!
