I guess I could put my cap and ball 44 in there. It's a bit messy though.

Anyone try these in their compartments. Haven't really had the motivation since I live in L.A. and its virtually impossible to get a CCW, so I usually only transport my guns when I go to the range. When I travel thats another story.

Just curious, the secret compartment isn't considered a glove compartment is it?, if it isn't then I guess I could legally put a gun in there so long as it was unloaded and the magazine and ammo were not with it.
ABSOLUTELY NOT. It's within reach of the passenger and the driver, and probably considered a utility compartment. You can leave the mag in the SC, not the handgun. Here are relevent PCs 12025, 12026 to start you off.

If OXYBLUE says a P220 will fit, then a P226 should too. i'd say a XD compact should fit as well.

Seattle, a great auto to have is an H&K P2000 in .40 cal. I rarely go shooting anymore but the last time out, I shot one of these and it had one of the best double action only trigger pulls from the factory I have experienced. It is small and easy to handle. I have no idea what the price is though but I think it is worth what they are asking.

I know... I was just tought growing up shoting with my dad that you never pull a gun on an attacker unless you intend on using it. I sure as heck wouldn't get in any gun fights... I am only saying that if I was attacked in my home or while working at an open house or such that I would do whatever means neccesary to protect my body and my life. That's all I'm saying, its not that I'm confident, one only knows how they will react when they are put in that situation. Thankfully I have not been in that situation and hopefully it stays that way.

JGS, we're an informed bunch.
Using the dash compartment was a plus when I looked at the Mini.

You should look into the handgun safety seminar at the Firearms Academy of Seattle. Reasonable cost (used to be free), although the drive can be a haul, but an excellent class to go through even if you've shot before.

Thanks! If I were to buy a gun I would definitly go to a class and see if there was shooting lessons or something... But probably won't get a gun just becuase I don't have the time to worry about all of it. We shall see!

I think that this raises a tough issue in self defense.

If you restrain deadly force to only combat and stop that exerted against you, the assailant then can either come back later for retribution, or, sue you in court.

west covina, CA? i'd be careful if i were you. Even if you used the repair loophole, some local LEOs aren't as informed. Then, even if you win in court, you're down 30k in legal fees. If you aren't using the repair route, then i suggest editing your post just in case.

just a warning, not trying to spread FUD.

Unscrewing a piece to access other components. What's up with that.
Still a 45 cal has maximum stopping power. Buying range ammo requires a 2nd mortgage.

This might be a thread for a different website, completely.
A cop I know drew and fired two Hydrashocks from his backup P230 (in .380). Put a very agitated large man on the ground with a dislocated shoulder, broken rib and punctured lung. "Maximum stopping power" is overrated, especially when it comes to a CCW.

eheh I do own an AR-15 but I was joking about the pmags. I'm not worried about any LEO as I don't carry any thing of the sort in my MINI.

I have 3 , but i would only carry them to the range and back.

I figured you were joking, but just in case... i've had people post stuff like that on another forum who we found out later was not joking when the subpoena came for this PMs a few years back.

btw, you dont happen to be one of the MCSs i see heading E on I-10 past Holt every morning would you?

Be careful... I married my Realtor!

If I wanted to shoot full auto AR-15 I just have to go up north where my buddy is a police officer and he has a registered one. He has about 30 30rd clip that we've used to go shooting stuff in federal land.

My commute is on local street 100% so I doubt it's me. I've seen 2 other mellow yellow MCS but usually I see them heading to 60.

Minut-I'm thinking of stopping power on one shot.
Sure, a great shot does the job.

After reading this I had to check if my S&W 40 would fit--it does not--need to get a smaller weapon--or mounting a 50 cal. on the roof with access through the sunroof might be an option.

i carry a Ruger .40 with me all the time. In AZ your not allowed to keep the gun concealed so you have to keep it in plain site. i keep it on my side, but I know it'll fit in the "safe"
