Wow!

However, could you just imagine the mess if you weren't a NAMer and didn't otherwise know about the secret compartment?

Won't hold my preferred CCW...

Had hopes it would hold my Para Ordnance P12, but it's not quite big
enough of a compartment. I probably need to pick up different gun
for my concealed carry... I've been thinking of switching to a revolver,
or maybe a smaller framed 9mm.

(and why would a post about a gun bring out a redneck reference <g>?)

Heck, the fact that I'm a mailman that carries something other than mail
off duty probably reinforces another stereotype as well <g>.

Gone Postal...
Para's P12 is NOT regarded as an easy weapon to break down and clean.
Unscrewing a piece to access other components. What's up with that.
Still a 45 cal has maximum stopping power. Buying range ammo requires a 2nd mortgage.

This might be a thread for a different website, completely.

Yeah Postal, you might want to try something just a little smaller/lighter for concealed carry. I've gone to a titanium framed 38sp. No worries about jamming and enough stopping power for me.

By the way, my girlfriend's father lives in Hurricane!

My wife won't let me have a gun, so I keep a sling shot in mine.

the one above the glove box.

Glock 23 + 165 gr Federal HST would be my choice if getting a CCW in metro areas of CA were as easier. or i'm out of state and using a utah/florida ccw.

Gotcha thanks!!! I'll have to check that out when my car gets here!

I'm looking into getting a permit to carry a 9... I don't know much about guns, I grew up shooting them (my dad has a collection from 9's to AK47's) But my hubby thinks I should have one because I am a real estate agent and I'm always by myself in vacant houses with strange men... lol

Yeah I would want to go to classes and the shooting range and such. No point in having a gun if you can't use it... Although I am confident that if I had to defend myself the other person wouldn't come out of it alive (Im a fighter lol)

Oh he also mentioned a taser, the kind you can shoot at someone so you dont have to be standing right next to them in order to get them. That might be a safer option... for having in public I mean.

Seattle, don't be so confident. Owning and using a firearm is a huge responsibility not to be taken lightly. In a gun fight you will always default to your lowest level of training. If you have no serious and professional training that is what you will default to. No one does what they think they will do in a gun fight or any confrontation unless they have trained heavily for that specific situation.

Many officers have gone to autos from their trusty revolvers because revolvers can go "out-of-time" if dropped, they regularly carry fewer rounds as opposed to the higher capacity automatic magazines, it generally takes a little longer to reload revolvers, especially under stressful situations. Just f.y.i., here in Texas, you can carry a rifle or a shotgun but not around schools and a few other places but the new law states you can now carry handguns if they are not in view. The secret compartment is great for this.

Hmm, I've been wanting to check to see if my Sig 226 9mm or 40 will fit in there, somehow I think they might be too big. I think maybe my Springfield XD 9mm would. Anyone try these in their compartments. Haven't really had the motivation since I live in L.A. and its virtually impossible to get a CCW, so I usually only transport my guns when I go to the range. When I travel thats another story.

Just curious, the secret compartment isn't considered a glove compartment is it?, if it isn't then I guess I could legally put a gun in there so long as it was unloaded and the magazine and ammo were not with it.

Check out the new PPS from Walther. About the size of a PPK/S, but comes in 9 and 40.

If I didnt have a PPK/S and an H&K USP Compact 45 (depending on attire and concealability) I'd seriously be considering that.

My wife made me sell my Stainless S&W .44 with 8-3/8" barrel. Reloading for that thing was a blast. 1200+ fps with 240 grain JHP.
