surprise shower for my new clubman
I am going to fly next week to Las Vegas to pick up my new Sparkling Silver Clubman S since I could not get one in Portland. My wife and I have been watching our car's progress at the Mini web site, and she had a surprise "Baby Shower" for me with my 4 children and 7 grandchildren. I am attaching the invitation and the wonderful pictures she made. I couldn't figure out how to put them in the post, so be sure to see the attached pictures,
the invitation:
Surprise Shower to
Welcome Baby Mini Cooper Dunn Sunday, July 13
at The Watson’s, following Evan’s BD party.
Gifts welcomed. Michael’s been dreaming of this pregnancy for years. His dream child is incarnating
as well, a .. …..car. The ‘baby’ is a healthy 3000 pounds, drinks 40 miles to the gallon and can run on a flat tire for 100 miles. Gorgeous in champagne ( the color), wooden dashboard, black upholstery and black bra (it’s gender is yet uncertain). Dad is thinking of names, like the other Mini Dads’ on the Mini Cooper Blog.
Michael has been a Man in Waiting, Months of Waiting: Ultrasee photos of assembly line placement and midwife machinists putting this baby together; BMW emails on
its’ developing progress; pictures while waiting at the dock to be loaded onto the boat; fears the due date would be delayed by the shipping strike; blogging with experienced MiniCooper Parents, who’ve named their babies and are known on the blog by their distinctive coloring, racing stripes and cushy interiors; cooing and gushing over each Mini spotted on the street.
It takes being a Mini parent to understand the emotions involved. Until you are one, you can speak about it but you don’t really know. And while proud parents can talk ad infinitum about the achievements and special talents of their Minis, no other Mini is as beautiful and loveable as the one that will be holding our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Poppa and husband.
REMEMBER—IT’S A
SURPRISE!!!!!!!
