Clubman wait times

Just wondering who has the longest wait times for their Clubman? Looks like from the time I put my money down to delivery should be about 18 weeks. This is for a Clubman S.

Anyone longer than that?

We ordered our Clubman S May 11th, should have our baby the end of September. About 23 weeks I guess. (Just got our production number last week, no date yet.)

Our order was entered on June 09, 08 and we took delivery on July 29, 2008. Ended up being about 6wks sooner than the MA thought it would be. She said the owner of their dealership pushed hard to get more allocations, using survey results and satisfied customer letters and they did get more allocations.

I may have the record for shortest wait. (08 Clubman S)
Ordered on July 3
Expect delivery earily this week.(Aug 4th or 5th)

advantage:
East coast
Dealer had a production slot
No delays from completing the build to getting it on the ship

Clubman (non-S) ordered May 18th, production week 36 (1st week of Sept) so it looks like 21-22 weeks for delivery to MINI of Peabody.

Put deposit down for non S Clubman June 30th, MA says the order will be placed sometime in October for December delivery. So, 5-6 month wait time for me at NW Mini.

We ordered on July 19th.

We do not have a production number yet (which makes me nervous) and we were told to expect Oct./Nov. delivery. I will know more when I get a production # and week scheduled. Keep your fingers crossed for me that that will be solidified soon!

Ordered 6/7/08 delivery due 8/7/08 .... that's exactly 2 months if it stays on schedule.

I could be wrong, but my guess is that you will not see a production number until you are much closer to delivery, probably 2 months prior.

JCW Clubman, Blk/Dark Silver

Ordered and Received Production Number May 31, 2008

Entered Production Week of July 7

Loaded on the Turandot and left Southampton on July 19th

Arrives @ PORT HUENEME, CA on August 11th

Should arrive at the dealer on August 25th

Roughly 3 months from order to dealer. The trip through the Panama Canal to get to the west coast adds 2 weeks to the delivery process.

And I would gladly do it again!
If my BMW 330 CI convertible would sell I would be on the list for a 2009 Cabrio.
I'm seriously addicted to MINI. I just had a hat made that says "I Love OTTO,"and an oval sticker with his name on it for the window.

I went out the other night to pack two Ebay sales and ended up giving him another wax.

Guess I'm obsessed, but in a good way.

Congrats to all the other Clubman owners and those waiting. You will be amazed, especially after the break-in period.

I waited six months, but then again I ordered mine well in advance to a) avoid the expected surcharge that got applied when gas prices went up and dealers started to take advantage of buyers with their $500+ prep fees and 2) I had a lease maturing on a certain date and I wanted to make sure that my car would be there waiting for me.

It looks like my car will arrive early, which begs the question do I pick it up early and have two cars for a couple of months, or let it sit their on the lot begging for an owner.

If I were you I'd go and get it.
1. to enjoy it (and I wouldn't be able to hold back)
2. If you don't close the deal, you do run the risk of the dealer doing something. (damage, taking it to lunch, selling it, adding additional charges)

I'm in the same situation. My Mini is almost 4 weeks earlier. I'm going to pick it up this week

For those being quoted very long lead times...

you may want to call other dealers. The wait time is based on orders vs the dealer allocation, not a line at the factory. Some of the less popular dealers will have much shorter waits, and a Southwest air ticket is cheap, you get a nice drive home, and more time to drive a Mini.

FWIW, we ordered early June and I think it's at the dealer this week...

I have been thinking that Matt.

I honestly can take the wait if I had a build date, but having deposited the car over 2 weeks ago and I still have not gotten the build date, I am getting antsy. I understand the way the production and allocation slots work, I would just like to know where I stand. I guess I need to call my MA and get the update. The suspense is killing me!!

Ordered my Clubman S June 14, taking delivery today August 4th, so about 7 weeks to Buffalo, NY. Was told that if I ordered a NON S clubman, I'd be taking delivery sometime in later November (~23 weeks).

Me too... Ordered July 1 and told to expect it Sept 15. It hit the pier last week. I hope to pick it up this week.

So much for a hot, desirable car.

that's weird ... when I ordered mine in April, it was the other way around.
S's were about 3-4 months with non-S at the usual 6-7 weeks.

could it be that the extra bit of fuel economy is driving the demand of the non-S up?

Is there a detailed explanation somewhere of how allocations work? I get that they are different by dealer, but how are they sliced? Or does that also differ by dealer?
