How much are you all paying to have a vanity plate? Is it a one-time fee? I never got one because my state charges a ridiculous $55 YEARLY fee! No thanks!!

In Maryland, the MVA website has a tool to check for available vanity plates. Just put in your choice and it will immediately tell you if the name is available.

Those in other states might want to see if your state has this too.

Well with 7 letters being your limit I would say that any of the following would work just fine:
  • CLUBMAN
  • CLUBBER
  • CLUBBIE
  • CLBRLVR
  • CLUBLVR
  • CLBEELV
  • CLUBING
If you still can't decide then you can always checkout this Flickr Group for ideas.
If you have digital images of MINI Coopers with vanity tags feel free to add them to this group.
A little something to work with...

In California - we just pre-ordered our plates (HT CLBMN) and it was $41 for it. Then as I understand, it will be a minimal fee each year (~ $8?) added to the annual registration. Not bad, worth it for the fun plates.

Actually, annual renewal is $30 additional per year.

Still, well worth the extra daily grins on everyone's faces.

My buddy was going to get 9"longer on his clubman. That would have worked when considering it was in reference to my coupe.

I'm just glad I didn't get 9"shorter...hehe.

I think every state is different with regards to fees for vanity plates... I'm pretty sure NY's is $45 a year.

Oh yes. Considering the magnitude of vanity plates in Ohio, they're still pretty expensive. I think getting plate (title & registration) is almost $200, and it's about $90 or so for renewal. But that's ok...I get all my state taxes back anyway, so....It think it's still worth it. Although, ... now with the husband's car and my MINI and truck,...well...sigh...the way my plates crack me up EVERY SINGLE TIME I see them...totally worth it.

Back in May I "MINY" after the name of my club, MINY (MINIs In New York.)

The fee was $44 one-time and then 20bux a year thereafter.

It appears to be quite clear.. I don't think most people will have a difficult time figuring it out.

Just blame me why don't you, I just pulled up the vanity plate section of DMV and paid for it. I did not realize there would be test later.
