LOL ...

speaking of goodies ... for the 1 year anniversary of my Mazda3 purchase last week Mazda sends me a MINI-like gift box ... with "in case you did too much zoom zooming" or the like written on it.

what's in it? ... a small bottle of body colored touch-up paint

I got my MINI adventure kit today, I think most of the stuff is worthless. I'd trade it for a MINI umbrella, first aid kit or warning trianges from the European MINI any time.

It's marketing, not free gifts. Jeez....

I got an eight ball (as in billiards, not controlled substances) in my kit. How do I get a 'Zug' antennae ball? I can get them from a dealer, too?

Anyone apply their ZUG sticker on the boot? I'm a girlie-man about stickers on the car and can't bring myself to put anything with adhesive on it.

Thanks for the clarification!

Yep, I think the ZUG comes from the dealer.

Did you that got the adventure kit get other goodies from MINI as well? I took delivery in late August and have received nothing at all from MINI, ever. I've seen others who got postcards, etc. as well.

I got my car on July 12th. I got my kit 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I would think you can expect your kit in about a month.

I got the eight ball. I got a separate mailer with a "mini parking only" stencil. Thinking about buying a can of spray paint and using it.

I didn't get it either. How much time passed between receiving the kit and receiving the stencil?

Received my kit on the 18th of Spetember. I picked up Buckley around the first week of August. I had a PS/B Cooper back in 05 and the Adventure Kit was a whole lot cooler then, not a bunch of advertisments. But I do love the pen!

I was looking for the stencil, but when I mentioned it, SWMBO was not completely enamored of the idea of painting the driveway...

Fear not - I took delivery of my BRG on 4/28 and just today recieved my "adventure" kit. I like the pen, and it's handy to have another Roadside Assistance card, and the card holder thingie is good for my regional MINI club cards.

P.S. Speaking of roadside assistance - I think it pays to by a lightly "preowned" certified MINI to get that "MINI Next" version of roadside assistance - 6 years/unlimited miles from original in service date.

Jes' kiddin' of course...

Lessee...there's a motoring journal, a MINI pen, a yellow smileyface antenna ball, some vinyl cling "window poetry", a ZUG boot badge, the MINI Clubman handbook, and something else super secret....shhhhh can't tell!
I didn't get a smiley ball I got an 8-ball. I love it and my super secret item. It took me a few minutes to find that!

No smiley ball, no ball at all, but instead - a "Zug" sticker "boot badge" that one is supposed to put on either side of the barn doors where they meet - it is nicely done and looks like it's a take off on the ham radio operators insignia. I guess they ran out of *****?

Oh yeah, I got the boot badge too. Deciding if I want to actually put that on the boot. My OCD is making me paranoid that it will ruin the paint, though.

You didn't get an antenna ball?? You were robbed! I'll send you my WalMart smiley one if you'd like!

I'm laughing - yes, I feel the way you do. I don't like to put stickers on my MINI. Now a nice cling - any day!

I'll pass on that Walmart smiley face... Actually my SA would probably load me up with Zug antenna *****, but I kind of like my plain old one - antenna, that is.

Yep, it will hurt the paint...so the OCD in me decided to stick magnetic badge material to the back of it; that way I can use it if/when I want to, and remove it when I don't (without risk of paint damage).

I actually get a kick out of the promotional stuff that MINI sends out. I just wish there were more things (especially useful ones), and less literature.

For the record, I never received a parking stencil either (or toggle-switch overlays, for that matter), and was hoping for one (wonder what ya had to do to get that stuff ). Don't think they're coming at this point.
