I still haven't found any magazines where I can use the decoder found in the secret compartment of the adventure kit. Anyone out there able to point to a certain magazine and date so I can use this stuff? I hope it won't reveal a message like Ralphie's in "A Christmas Story".

 

I know I've seen it at places like Michael's, A.C. Moore (local craft stores), JoAnn's (local fabric store), Office Depot, and the like; but I used one of those 12 month magnetic calendar/business card sheets that came in the mail or stuck on the front of the Yellow Pages book. Just traced around it, cut it out, peeled off the backing, stuck it together, and voila! Waste not, want not, eh?!

 

 

I got mine yesterday! A nice surprise. Yes, it is a bunch of marketing stuff, but still cool to get. We have purchased 3 cars from the same dealership (GM) and haven't received a thing! 1 Mini and we get a kit... who am I to think more of?
They still have the journal, pen, secret stuff and marketing materials. They have included window messages as well. Kinda cool!

 

Quick question: do I have to call MINI and ask for it? Or do they already know I bought a car and are sending it soon?

 

They know. You'll get it. If you get to 3 months since delivery, I suggest bothering your MA.

 

My Mini delivered end of September, but just got Adventure Kit today - about a 5 week lag.

No 8-ball, just a die. Nice pen and notebook. Don't like idea of rear sticker, since it warns about paint damage (like idea elsewhere of magnetic stickie instead). Will have to go look for secret compartment now.

 

Just got mine yesterday. I had a week 37 build delivered mid-October.
Mostly same stuff as reported above, journal, nice pen, window word stickers, boot 'zug" badge, MINI mouse pad and, for me most important, the antenna Eight Ball. (what's the stuff about the decoder and the adventure kit secret compartment? I'm about to throw out the box and marketing materials but don't want to throw out anything cool.)

 

Look inside black box. There is inside flap on the inside rear of the box - has words saying "do not open, nothing in here..." Open flap- secured with velcro - and find the "top secret" envelope.

 

Got mine on Friday. Took delivery mid October. Did not get the ZUG ball, instead got the number 8 ball which is still pretty cool The secret compartment had the usual stuff: the gallses, lens and the decoder. The mouse pad and the pen are really cool.

 

I just got mine (2 months after just about). Got a dice/die, lame. Back in 2007 got a ball with a union-jack, was nicer.

Wanted to reply mostly to thank the idea of putting the ZUG badge on magnets; I tried sticking it on a few spots but wasn't sure about the look -- the badge idea is the best!
