It's *probably* not your iPod; I have a 4G 20GB iPod which operates smoothly with the Convenience Pkg, but does not hold a charge more than a couple of days (the battery is probably wearing out). Until it no longer works I will continue to use it and charge in the house.

Before you take to the dealer, be sure the USB plug part of the y-connector cable is fully seated in its receptacle. I assume you know you have to slide a small "door" aside to get the USB plug in? I took my y-cable to an Apple store and made sure it was getting power through USB to the docking plug...

There could be a loose connection in the MINI's USB setup, your cable could be getting loose, or I dunno. Good luck.
