DRIVING WITHOUT TIRE SENSORS?

i talked with a rep frm tirerack and he mentioned its ok to drive without tire sensors? anyone can give me feedback as perhaps i might have hope using my beloved r90 rims. any feedback would be great.

not sure about teh Beru system on the MINI but the Schraeder one on my FX35 doesn't put a light on the dash from missing sensors until well into a road trip (like 45-hour in). Around town, it never goes off. Small price to pay to choose the wheel you want (20" OZ Michelangelo II for the FX).
