posted this in the Child Seat thread but figured it will help some here as well ...
ok, so here are 2 pics of the first outing yesterday with our newborn.
baby seat in back, carriage in front, wife (5'10") in back and me 6'7" driving.
on the return trip my wife was driving with me in the back, which worked fine as well.
with this config, we still had the entire boot area empty for groceries, etc. although I think i could squeeze the baby carriage in there also. will try it another time.

They were surprised
On Sunday I volunteered to staff a SAG stop for the Lone Star Century bike ride here in Johnson County. I backed my car up the the stack of stuff and the organizer was doubtful that the enormous pile would fit in such a small car. "No problem", and I tossed it in rather casually. I did not really pack carefully as I was certain it would fit. Once in, they then told me I needed to add the 2 tables...OK, just no quick stops.
So here's a couple views of the loaded car (though with all that water the springs were definitely lowered) and then me unpacked but not set up. The canopy also came along, as did I (and I am no tiny person.)

I have a harp that's 63" tall and 40" wide. I'm going to try. Preliminary measurements have me thinking that it will fit but won't lay flat. Migh have to remove the front seat from it's rails so I can slide it forward enough to make it lav completely flat.
Oversight on the part of the design engineer that the front passenger seat won't fold flat. My MB (that's 26 years old) can fold the front seat flat when it's all the way forward. This makes basically flat area large enough for the harp. It's a sedan and the harp goes in through the front door. Would be disappointment if the harp won't be able to ride in the MINI.
Anyone here ever remove a front seat (and leave it in the car)?
