SEat belt buckle issues.

I have noticed that if I fail to manually put the seat belt buckle up high into its holder, it catches on the door moulding and the seat and puts a dent in the door when I close it after I get out of the vehicle. Seems like they should have thought about this but they did not. Soooo...check your seat belt buckle prior to exiting the vehicle and make sure it is retracted or you too will dent the door panel. It only appears to be happening on the driver's side door panel.

By holder do you mean that plastic slide on the belt? Yeah, I've noticed that could happen too but keep that plastic piece up near the top all the time.

Don't mean to bring up an older thread, but I have an issue with mine. I have an 05 S Convertible and on my drivers side, that little sliding plastic piece is gone!! Does anyone have the part number or know of any other aftermarket generic ones that will snap on the actual belt?

Bought the car used and didn't realize until a week later that it was suppose to have one when I saw it on the passenger side belt.

Thanks

Josh

Josh,

Part number is 71.11.1.862.636.

Most dealers will probably have it in stock as it is used on all versions of Mini's from 2002 to present day.

Edit: I had a typo in the part number it is now correct.

Thanks you so much! It just stinks I noticed two days after I just made the trip to the dealer!! Oh well, hopefully it isn't too expensive and maybe they can just ship it to me. Looks like it just snaps on there.
