You think condensation is bad when the rain runs down the roof channel and works it way to the little holes towards the rear of the roof the water exits out the brake light assembly.
I live in a desert area so my Clubbie rarely sees rain. About 2 months ago, I drove through a couple of hours of heavy rain in another part of the state. The next day after I washed it, I noticed condensation in both of my brake lights but not in the 3rd. I was in a town with a dealer so I was going to take it in but it later disappeared.
Just a heads up. I don't think the 3rd brake light condensation is something that the dealer is aware of...especially about the fact that the clear ones leak while the red ones don't. It's just something I've noticed myself while talking to others. I still have never found someone with condensation in their red lense.
So, they may not know what you're talking about when you mention it
I had mine replaced at week four, along with the barn door recall.
Next trip in will be for:
1) passenger window doesn't go all the way up.
2) clicking in dash
3) horrible diesel sound sometimes starting on cold morning.

I think mine needs to go in also because I have #'s 2 and 3 plus the brake light condensation. Let us know what you find out on yours.
I have had condensation building up in my 3rd brake light. Is this to be of concern or just normal? Seems weird to me.
It is not anything to be very concerned about. However, contact your service adviser about it. I was in for service due to rear driver side door not opening (corroded contacts due to moisture intrusion ) and they pro-actively replaced my third brake light because it had condensation.
I suspect that there is a manufacturing date range which has bad seals and gets condensation buildup.
You may want to check your front fog lights as well. I had condensation in the right front lens. They replaced it under warranty. Now I have it in both front fog lights including the one that was replaced.
I'm going to take the car in again and have both replaced. You should not have condensation in any light fixture.
Regards,
Pat
I will be watching my other lights for the issue.
I don't have a clubman but I bet the supplier is the same for both thus my post.
Should be picking her up today. Third brake light lens replaced. Had to order a new zenon light (the other one had a british spider egg hatch and create webs inside). HOw bizarre is that! They also lubed the clutch pedal. Will post the details later, but as usual, their service is second to none as far as I am concerned.
3rd brake light replaced under warranty.
Clutch boot lubed and fixed the squeaky beaky.
The spider webs were not covered under warranty since they have a vent in them but they fixed them for free anyway!
Awesome work!
I know this is an old thread. Hopefully some of you are still around. Have this problem now on my 2010 Clubman S. Looking on RealOEM, the part number is 63252755613, but I don't see a gasket for it - does it come with the gasket, or does someone know the gasket part number?

There is no gasket for the rear third brake light. It is supposed to be a sealed unit. When I purchased my replacement, I ran a bead of silicone sealer around the edge and the wire penetration. Haven't had any issue with condensation since.
