I've had my Clubman S for several months but now that the cold weather has set in I have detected a very annoying rattle/gasket creaking (for lack of a better description) when under way. It appears to be coming from the rear around the barn door area but I am not able to pin point its exact location. Has anyone experienced this and if so have you been able to stop the rattle/creaking, short of going back to the dealer (a sixty mile round trip for me)?

 

My barn door don't rattle but check and make sure that the latch rubber stop is located inside the left barn door as it tends to come off on its own with no warning. The rubber boot supports both doors when closed and helps to isolate any rubbing/noises.

Have the dealer check the electric lock and door adjustment, including the gas filled struts. The gas filled strut failed on my right barn door and it will get replaced under warranty this week.

 

I noticed the same thing and it was coming from the driver's side barn door. I was able to pinpoint something rattling around inside the door panel. I pried off the door panel and a plastic fitting came out. Probably just something popped off and rattling around. Didn't look like anything important, maybe a small piece of plastic sheared off during placement or something. Don't know if this helps, but my MINI has been quiet ever since.
