My Clubman finally arrived on American soil and I was wondering if anyone knows how long the car stays at the distribution center until it goes on the road to the dealer?
If you're getting nothing installed at the port I think what mrdirosa said is probably about right. I had a couple port install items (jcw aero kit, ipod adapter) and my car was at the port for a couple weeks. DROVE ME CRAZY!
The Clubman I ordered arrived at the VDC in Port Hueneme on Feb. 3 and it's still there (why-Knee-me indeed). My MA said they found some "scratches" last week, and today he tells me that the VDC should get it through the body shop by the end of the week (or early next week at the latest).
Mine is not the typical situation, but be aware that the worst case scenario can happen. And don't expect your dealer to know much about what's really going on when things go bad.
P.S.: roof rails need to be installed at the factory before the headliner. Things that might be installed at the VDC appear in step 5 or 6 on the configurator.
Best wishes to the rest of you waiting for your orders.
Things have probably gotten better since mine came through the Brunswick VDC. I had two things installed there - sport stripes and the lights and it took them almost 2 weeks to ship it to the dealership. Hopefully it will be quicker for you!
Mine arrived at the port on Feb 6 and I received it a week later on Feb 14th! Mine took 8 WEEKS in total to come!! It was torture, but totally worth it!
