Rain-X on the barn doors

Don't know if any one has tried this but we put Rain X on the back windows and wow what a difference. While the rain and spray from the road still gets on them it just beads up and you can see out the back with out running the wipers.

Have you used it on the front windshield or side windows? Just curious why this is specific to barn doors if it's working well. I'd like to pick up some of this stuff. Are there any drawbacks or other things to consider?

I tried it on all my windows and never noticed that much of a difference - maybe I did it wrong? Thought I followed the directions...

I have been using it for years on the front windows. Unless you have a very light mist I just leave the wipers off and the rain just slides away. When other car have to pull over due to a down pour that the wipers can keep up with you will keep going with them off and see just fine. The only draw back is that if you let the rain x wear off and do not re apply it and have to run the wippers all the time they will tend to over dry the windows and squeak a little. Also if you get into a car that has not had rain x you will wonder how they can see anything when raining.

I use RainX and swear by the stuff. Apply it ever couple weeks.
Any time I'm going to travel I put on the RainX...even rental cars.
@ 35 mph, everything beads off, even mist.

I've used the rear wipers once.

I use it on all my windows, front, side, and rear. I even use it on the side mirrors, keeps them all cleaner and easier to clean.
