if you go into the config options on the radio controls, there is a setting to adjust the volume level of the <gong>. You may be able to lower to a less annoying level. I'll try it myself later when i am happily motoring again.

This function does NOT change the volume it only changes the TONE.

Also many cars do not have this function a it only comes with a certian set of options.

Yes it changes the level from ear-piercing to just annoying.

As measured on my 08 Clubman it does not change the actual volume level it only changes the frequency of the gong.

I found that adjustment on my '09 Clubster and turned it down to -5, as far as it would go - didn't seem to make any difference........

My '03 doesn't ding, gong, bonk or anything till I put my seatbelt on, I would like my '09 to be as serene, please.

And to Schatzy and anyone else working on this, thank you!

By the way, I'm not trying to be a sourpuss. Sometimes something gets under my skin and I decide to bark about it for about a day, or so. I'M STILL A BIG FAN OF MINI!

If there's a quick fix for this, that's all I'm after. Not trying to bring the Motoring Mood down in this place. You peeps are too cool for that.

Thanks for the volume and/or tone suggestion. I've been swamped at work so I haven't been able to dig into the manuals as deep as I would like yet. That's a good suggestion though. Maybe mine was accidentally set to "Aggravation Resonation" instead of "Gentle Nudge"? I hope it's that simple.

Spike out.

It is really irritating when you have groceries in the passenger seat and the gong keeps going off!

I think this car really appeals to artists in general. Another art teacher in VB recent bought a chocolate clubman!
