Rear-ended again...
So I decided to take initiative and post these since my wife (Chocolatemonkey) never did. We had an accident back in November in Stuttgart, Germany. We were coming around a sharp corner that ended on a down slope of a hill where there was already a previous accident when I hit the brakes and stopped in time but the guy behind me was not that lucky and ended up hitting me in the rear totaling his car (Ford Festiva). Since then the vehicle been fixed and all was good. Until late this afternoon when she was rear-ended again. Not as bad this time but still. This time she was sitting at a light when it had turned green she hesitated (doing the girl thing) for a second except the guy behind her didn't and just started driving. Rode right up on her bumper and put a nice divot into it.

Amazing how some cars just seem to be accident magnets, even when the accidents are not the fault of the driver.
This one looks relatively minor. But still... PITA, I know.
BTW: Many insurers and more all the time, are using accidents where you were not at fault as part of their driver rating process (think PREMIUMS). Actuarial evidence has proven that those drivers involved in numerous accidents where they were not the liable party are more likely to be involved in future accidents where they will be the at-fault party.
Back to your thread... and sorry for your misfortunes.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes. I took adavantage of a similar incident to order up a Minidomore trailer hitch, which the folks at the Inskip body shop are installing while the rear bumper is dismantled. It doesn't totally cancel out the PITA factor, but on the other hand, I'm not sure I would have added the hitch myself if it meant taking apart a perfectly good bumper . . .

The other guy admitted not paying attention and was called at fault on the spot. It was an International disaster, the dude was from Italy there on buisness, I am an American there on buisness. It was a mess, Italian and American insurances trying to make a german claim
Everything worked out ok though, the guy (who actually went to the hospital) called me like four days later just to make sure everything was alright and his insurance was taking care of everything.
