New owner for a Clubman you may have seen
So I picked up my new to me Clubman on Thursday. You may have seen this car around the boards before. It was for sale in the marketplace which is where I found it.
I have previously owner 2 R53 Coopers ('02 and '04). I never really liked the new R56 when it came out and have always considered myself a wagon guy. I've had a couple S4 Avants along with a Volvo V50. I've always really liked the Clubman, though I see some I love and some that just don't do anything for me.
I happened upon this one about a month ago and felt it was perfect. Kids are 18 months away, so I wanted to go back to something a bit more fun. I had been driving a Scion XB the last year (p.s. best car you can drive new for 16K). Sold the Scion to get this. Options are perfect for me and I love the mods the first owner did. He actually had some additional performance mods I didn't want so I had them removed and the warranty confirmed by a dealer. Took it on a 400 mile drive home today from LA to the SF Bay Area. Was a great drive.
I kept the coilovers, short shifter and cat-back exhaust. Ditched all the other stuff he had. Had to keep the BBS rims as they are my favorite brand. The painted side skirts and JCW bumper gives it a nice aggresive look. Plus 31 MPG @ 85 MPH on I-5 feels great.
I plan on doing some detailing along with clear bra, hardwired V1 and maybe a stereo upgrade. That's it. Everything else is perfect.
See y'all around....
P.S. First owner is great guy, so I would say buy with no fear on the parts he has up for sale...
