Couple of things you can check....Tire Pressure make sure it is correct. Air conditioning typically can take about 10% to 15% off of MPG depending on the car and conditions.

I honestly haven't heard of a clubbie with that low of an MPG.
Yeah, me neither...that's why I am very suspicious now. Tire pressure is 36 psi. I even had a MINI friend to check for me. I don't use AC too much, mostly I have the window(s) down.

2009 MCCm, 4000 miles on odometer, 91 octane Phillips, 500 lbs of people, 65 mph most of the time, AC on most of the time = 36 mpg.

I drove 2275 miles round trip PA to Florida. Two people and a dog. Drove between 65 and 75 mph with AC on. Computer showed 34.8 mpg, 54.6 mph avg. I find it to be within +/- 1mpg if I do the calculations manually. I have been on trips with the AC off and driving slower and getting closer to 42mpg.

Right now I'm averaging about 23mpg. I live in Los Angeles and I do most of my driving on city streets in our famous traffic.

Oh yeaaaah!!!! Now you made me happy. I was thinking that I bought some kind of dark silver lemon I live in Los Angeles too (Venice), and my trips are pretty short and on the city streets too. I just looked at the computer today, and at 4280 miles, my average speed is 19.8 mph. I wonder how that correlates to the mileage... you people with high MPGs, what is your average speed? Also, I do like to have my SPORT button on :-)

SPORT button rules! But my MPGs are the same without or with the button... only the last few months I've been using it all the time, so I have good data to compare. In the beginning I was not using it at all. Mileage is the same, 23-34 mpg.

Despite buying Pelle for the gas mileage initially, I haven't been paying attention at all. Today, I checked and was surprised to see 39 mpg average, and average speed 54.2 mph. Don't know how that compares to anyone else...perhaps 'we' should prep a googledoc spreadsheet with all these exciting parameters, so we can fill'em in and amuse ourselves even more!

I live in the Bel Air area. I drive Sunset Blvd almost every day and I almost never have to use the freeways. I also drive in SPORT mode every day, . My average speed is around 20mph as well.

Deano does about 27mpg on my standard drive to work. It's not too surprising though as it's 12k of driving from red to red to red before I get to the office. On the drive to Seattle (500km of highway) i got about 39mpg.

Not overly worried as it's a nasty drive in constant traffic and I do 'enjoy' driving the S

I get slightly (not statistically) better gas mileage with the sport button on. I think it's due to how difficult it is for me to get enough gas and not pop the clutch from stars without the sport button. I find the car easier to drive with it on.
Mixed driving to work - 33 mpg.
The few highway trips I've taken - 36 mpg.
Clubbie S.
love this car!

I too love this car! CLUBBIE S ALL THE WAY! We took a jaunt to a burger joint in Santa Fe 52 miles away just for a road trip. Lots of hills, mile high + altitude, and speed that should not be mentioned . Averaged 31 MPG. The average speed on the computer indicated 77 mph for the trip .

I've driven our Clubman ~33,000 miles in ~9 months of driving. Most of the driving is mixed city/country. We regulary average 35-36 mpg when we drive 70-80 mph. a trip this weekend with four of us in the car was 31 mpg with speeds between 85-95 (good traffic day). I find the clubman's mpg very impacted by the averagge speed.

I have 900 miles on my Clubman. I drive 24 miles to work everyday in Chicago suburbs traffic. Takes me almost an hour. Average speed is 43 mph. MPG on first tank of gas was 35. MPG on second tank was 34. The 13.7 gallon tank the literature shows is off. I can get in almost 15 gallons.

Those numbers are very low for a "justa". What roads are you driving north of Boston and at what time of day. I mean I do some (not a lot) of traveling out that area and during rush hour and have never had that low a mileage on my S.
