Automatic Owners Unite - We Want a Leather Steering Wheel!

Anyone else interested in petitioning Mini for a hot chocolate leather steering wheel that is compatible with an automatic?

Pelle's an auto, and the Sport package gave him a charcoal leather steering wheel. Is this not the case in 2009?

Yes but they want a special color to match the interior seats. Probably not going to happen, but it can't hurt to try.

Yes, I got leather.....

But indeed I wanted the hot chocolate leather steering wheel to match my seats and gear shift ****. Apparently you can get it if you drive a manual, but it is not compatible with the paddles that are part of the automatic. Hence my quest!

We have an automatic Clubman with hot chocolate interior and a hot chocolate leather steering wheel.

It's a dealer installed option. (or at least it was for us!). No paddles though.

Okay this is me, very jealous!

I think the paddles are the issue. The dealer says that they cannot install the wheel on an automatic car because of the paddles. Do you have an automatic that does not have the paddles? I did not know that was an option.

Mini's options system doesn't make much sense. I wanted a set of web spoke wheels but they're only for the S. Also, the full instrument panel was available once but only on the convertible. Ridiculous. Not really as customizable as the ads claim. I made quite a few compromises on my car because the options were only for the "higher" end models. Also, the base Clubbie isn't available in dark silver.

That's a thought! Buy you know if Mini prides themselves on allowing me to "me-a-fy" my car as much as they claim they should offer my steering wheel. Come on Mini, help a sister out!

Paddles are on the S automatics only from 09. I have the 08 automatic, non S, and it has paddles, and a black leather steering wheel, with all other parts hot choc leather, as in brake handle, shifter and the accompanying skirts. But no way to wrap the wheel in the same due to the paddles. But- I love the options that the paddles offer.

Actually, my Club is not an S and I have the paddles. I'm not sure how it happened and I actually don't see myself using them at all.

I'm sorry, But I understood that paddles were on every Getrag (sp) auto tranny, just because they are shiftable.

you should let them know you are expecting "paddles" . By the configurator on miniusa, no paddles for the "justa"

those of you that have them on an 09 Justa might have cars built prior to March 09 ... check your door sticker for build date.

Well I went and looked at the jamb, and it was built in 01/09.
Grabbed my window sticker, it says a "Steptronic" auto tranny made in Japan. Has paddles and a leather steering wheel (black of course).
Engine from France, so I guess it might surrender at any moment.
US and Canadian Parts 5%
UK parts 30%
French parts 25%
So where the hades is the other 40%? Oz?
