It may be a happy day for the new owner but if it was me selling my clubman s it would be one of the worst days of my life.

It looks like Skye2 wasn't happy from the beginning. Start reading here if you are curious:

I was thinking the same thing, afterall, MINIs aren't for everyone.

I hope he finds what he's looking for.

SteelersFan is correct. MINI's are not for everyone. I found by owning one, they are not for me. It still is a cute car though. I suppose I wouldn't have come to that conclusion had I not owned one.

I have been quite happy with other cars I have owned.

So the point of this thread is just to complain more?

Just a thread to say MINI's aren't for everyone and until you live with one you may not realize that it may not be the car for you. That's all. I have already bought a pre owned Toyota.

While I for the most part don't understand the point of this thread, I think some folks need to take it easy. I love my Clubman, but it isn't for everybody. What's quite ridiculous in this forum though is that folks rip on other cars such as Toyotas or Prius'. Coming from a "Toyota family" I can attest that they make quality automobiles. In fact people ripping on a Prius just make laugh. That's about as smart as ripping on a Mini. About the only thing I could understand if someone was ripping on a Prius is that they went from a good design to their new design.

Priuses are fine, you just can't feel the road in them. I've driven them a few times and the driving experience was just dull. Other than that, they're good.

I haven't even driven a Prius and I would never get one while I can get a Mini instead. Still I always some hear some knocks on them on this forum. I agree the driving experience isn't the same, but that's not the point of getting a Prius.

Maybe an e-harmony type scheme is needed to help mitigate this unhappiness. MINIs would be matched up with those who truely appreciate the MINI driving experience for what it is, warts and all.

I have no idea what that would do to the BMW bottom line, though.

We are new to the Mini scene, our family has driven Volvo's for 20 years. I see more smiles on my wifes face when she gets out of the Mini than her total ownership of the the V70 (still have it). Cars are kind of like clothes, you wear different outfits for different occassions.

But I would say that anyone seriously researching a car would be able to tell if the car was not for them by doing a "Good" test drive or in my case drives. This goes for any make or model. I personally test drove 5 different MINI's at two dealerships before deciding to purchase.

Yes the car has a stiff ride but I knew that just after pulling out of the driveway of the dealership. It is blatantly obvious if test driven.

As for many of Skye2's other complaints, I am sure that the Pre-Owned Toyota has many of those flaws as well.

But I will agree that a MINI is not for everyone, but if you you do not research the car you are planning on buying (any make or model) it could be a very costly mistake as Skye2 has probably found out.

But as for a purpose for this thread I think Skye2 has done his/her job of educating someone that may not have purchased yet. So IMHO there is a good reason for this thread.

WOW! And all this time I've been thinking... "If EVERYONE had a MINI... there could be world peace!".

Bummer.

To the OP. Good luck with your new previously owned Toyota.

Actually, the several years old Toyota has less wrong with it than the Cluman did new.
