It looks like Skye2 wasn't happy from the beginning. Start reading here if you are curious:

I have been quite happy with other cars I have owned.

While I for the most part don't understand the point of this thread, I think some folks need to take it easy. I love my Clubman, but it isn't for everybody. What's quite ridiculous in this forum though is that folks rip on other cars such as Toyotas or Prius'. Coming from a "Toyota family" I can attest that they make quality automobiles. In fact people ripping on a Prius just make laugh. That's about as smart as ripping on a Mini. About the only thing I could understand if someone was ripping on a Prius is that they went from a good design to their new design.

But I would say that anyone seriously researching a car would be able to tell if the car was not for them by doing a "Good" test drive or in my case drives. This goes for any make or model. I personally test drove 5 different MINI's at two dealerships before deciding to purchase.
Yes the car has a stiff ride but I knew that just after pulling out of the driveway of the dealership. It is blatantly obvious if test driven.
As for many of Skye2's other complaints, I am sure that the Pre-Owned Toyota has many of those flaws as well.
But I will agree that a MINI is not for everyone, but if you you do not research the car you are planning on buying (any make or model) it could be a very costly mistake as Skye2 has probably found out.
But as for a purpose for this thread I think Skye2 has done his/her job of educating someone that may not have purchased yet. So IMHO there is a good reason for this thread.

Actually, the several years old Toyota has less wrong with it than the Cluman did new.
