I'm taking my car in tomorrow to get some paint touched up and I can't decide what to do, if anything, with the chrome around my headlights and grill. What would you do? Here's a picture of the car for reference:
It doesn't even look good. Its just changing something for the sake of changing something. These cars need some kind of accent or the lines and contours just blur together and it looks awful. Chrome on a black car looks the best.
But if you're going for the plastic look, then you might as well eliminate any metallic (looking) bit you can to make the entire thing look disposable. ;-)
I wouldn't touch it. I don't like too much chrome or chrome rims. If you had chrome mirrors I'd say change those out, but I'd leave the rest. It's not too much chrome. While the back of the car (I checked out your other photos) doesn't have chrome like the front, that's fine because you don't see the back when you see the front.
Stick with the chrome accents...the Matte Black Primer look just doesn't work for me, my oppinion. Looks like you took the car into the shop to have it painted...ran out of money and couldn't afford to have them finish the job. In other words, it's half baked!

Dude, there are purists, and there are custom builders. If you are a purist and want to keep your car amongst the originals, that's fine. Nobody is knocking you for that. So please don't say anything about the people that want to black their cars out. It's not a fad and it's definitely not changing something just to change it. I express myself through dark matters of the heart.
