Help on TPMS question.

Good day to all.

I have a question regarding the TPMS system on Milah (my clubman).

I have a the 15" silver color rims that come standard.

I have a friend who opted to upgrade to the 16" black spoke rims on he Mini Cooper (not a clubman).

She now likes the rims in my Clubman and I happen to like the rims on her Cooper.

We wish to do a clean swap of wheels. But my concern is regarding the TPMS systems.

1. Are all TPMS sensors compatible between the family ( Mini Cooper - Mini Cooper Clubman)?? or do I have to move my TPMS sensors from my wheels to hers and vice versa??

2. If I just change wheels, would I have to do anything special ?? eg. Reprogram each TPMS sensor in to the car or just reset the TPMS system??

3. If I have to reprogram, do any of you have an idea of how much it would cost to do this reprogram process or is it something I can do on my own??

This is my first mini and my first vehicle with TPMS so forgive my ignorance in the subject.

Thank you for your help.

Have a great day.

Mario.

I'm assuming these are >2007 model years? (kind a of a stupid question considering a clubbie but they made a significant change in TPMS sytems in the middle of the 07 model year)

If so you should be able to swap. I would imagine you will get a TPMS warning light when you fire it up after the swtich. Follow the instructions in your manual for the reset and you should be good to go.

I am basing this on logic. Wouldn't be a bad idea to run it past your SA

Definitely check with a SA and make sure you're both using the same TPMS. Probably frequency-dependent (i.e., 433MHz or something) but I'm just guessing.
