Roof Rack Base Removal from Roof Rails

I've done a search and can't find anything.

I installed the Roof Rack Base (cross bars) on my Roof Rails about six weeks ago and tried to remove them yesterday by loosening the bolts. However, the lower clamp seems like it's glued to the rails. Anyone know a way to get it loose? What am I missing?

Hit it with the meaty part of your palm. It always works for me.

I ahve found that on my BMW i need a little more persuasion than my hand will give so i use a rubber hammer lightly. They way they clamp is designed to stay locked up even if the bolts loosen up.
