I did a couple of searches, but couldn't find anything or I just didn't know what to search for...

After installing my MiniDoMore hitch and wiring harness, we buttoned everything back up and for some reason, the driver's side rear barn door won't open.

I know the door's getting power. You can see the convenience light is on and the rear window wiper is working, but it won't release. I've got an appointment with the dealership on Tuesday, but I'd like to know if anyone else has has any kind of problem like this.

The door latches work off of the CAN bus. You're probably going to find that it is the passenger door not sending the release message to the JBE. I just replaced the passenger barn door latch and the drivers door started working fine.

 

As it turns out...

There's a service bulletin out for this very thing. Parts have been ordered and will be installed on Friday morning.

 

A question. When I open the rear doors with the remote on my brand new Clubman, only the passenger side door swings open. Then I can open the driver's side with the door handle. Is this the problem you're talking about here? My car has the comfort access. Thanks

 

No. What you're describing is the way the barn doors are designed to open (passenger's side first, then driver's side); the passenger's side door latches into the driver's side door, so it must open first. For that reason, the remote will only pop open the passenger's side door; all Clubman barn doors operate in this way.

 

Timefitz, thanks. So I guess everything is working on this car--all four packages plus the other doodads.

 

Same thing just happened to my Clubman. I have the comfort access option, which I love, and works great on the doors. But I basically have to lean the key onto the rear door for the keyless option to work there. When I bring it to the dealer, it works just fine. As soon as I am alone with it, same issue. Now the driver side rear door will not open. Nice to know that I am not the only one.

 

I have a 2008 and the drivers side barn door will not open now. Do you have a link to the service bulletin?
