Don't know Motortrend's source, but they're reporting a 4 Door Clubman and mini Minivan are on the horizon!

The original Mini came in all sorts of flavors, including a pick up truck, so I say bring 'em on! Just keep the core values that we enjoy- good handling, fuel economy, fun to drive and keep the price out of BMW territory.....please!

 

It says the clubman will get 4 proper doors? As in no more suicide doors? I'm all for the expansion but keeps the suicide doors to help keep the clubby unique please.

 

Yeah, a Clubby w/ 4 doors would pretty much be a lowered Countryman without AWD.

I'm especially excited about a MINIvan as I'm actually considering going from Clubby to an Odyssey (I know! I know!) given our two young kids.

I'm a Clubman + Odyssey owner too! Two completely different cars but I'm happy with both.

 

I feel like the babies on E-trade commercial wwoooooooooohhooooooooo! Another excuse to buy a car.

 

I want a MINI Coupe. As for all of these bigger MINIs, I'm not too sure I agree.

 

4-door Clubman = SpaceBox?

If so, I can dig it. I love my R53, but there are times when I wish I had some extra space.

 

There is a "SpaceBox" and a four door Clubman under development according to the Motor Trend article and Mini people.

But sounds like the 4-door Clubbie and the SpaceBox will be two distinct models?

 

That's WAY out on the horizon. They're talking about the next generation MINI that will be completely redone and include 3 cylinder engines in the lineup.

The current Clubman has an uncertain future with the Countryman coming. Their prices are too close and most buyers will choose the Countryman. Even when MotoringFile asked Vinnie Kung of MINIUSA about it, he seemed it admit that the Clubman may not be around much longer.
