Reprogramming Indicator Quick Tap

Original question posted on SOMC

Does anyone know whether a 5s option can be programmed in as either a 3rd choice, or to replace the 1s option? I do not like my turn signal going off before I complete a lane change. I'm not going to start doing my lane changes more quickly, because I want other drivers to have some notice before I move. Also, if the turn signal goes off before the lane change is completed, an overtaking driver may think I'm changing my mind which could lead to an accident.

It's either 3 or continuous. You can change the settings in the computer by using the button on the turn signal stalk. If you choose 3 it'll be three if you tap it and continuous if you pull or push it all the way to either side. If you choose continuous it'll be continuous no matter how hard you hit it.

I don't think there is a continuous setting. It is either one or three flashes. Pulling past the initial activativation point makes it flash until cancelled by turning or by hand. You can always set it for three flashes and tap again for three more if you have not completed your lane change.

Lather, rinse, repeat as necessary.

Just do it the "regular" way (how it's done on most cars) -- hold the stalk down while you want it to flash. Do it the same as you would for the 2003 MCS listed in your sig.

Only 1 or 3 blinks. I don't like it either and would rather it be 5 but this can not even be chagne by the dealer.

Maybe the solution is to make quicker lane changes.
