That is one nice looking Clubby, and buying used is my prefered method of buying a car so dont feel bad because you payed less. I bought both of my MINI's pre-owned(with minor problems) and they depritiated nicely in somone elses garage leaving them to flip all that negitive equity.
Hopefully that will discourage someone for buying one and slapping it on any car...

Unfortunatly it is also why people start borrowing things from the parking lot buffet

hi everybody, sorry been away for a while. I did check the VIN and its a genuine JCW whew...
$94!!! i agree with flatlander.

I sometimes take the train to work and one day there was another clubman parked. I parked next to it and took a picture. Would it be OK to post it here or would the owner be mad?

I personally wouldn't object, and don't think the other owner would either -- but that's just me... Ultimately, as long as you weren't profiting from the photo, I don't even think that the owner would really have any recourse to object... But I'm not a lawyer either... If you truly have a concern, you can always do something to electronically remove anything that clearly identifies the vehicle (like license plate numbers), making it appear as a "generic" Clubman. And I imagine if you did get a complaint, you could always just remove the posted photo...

How's that for a wishy-washy answer...?

Cool! A couple of Clubman Bookends! I know what you're saying; I don't seem to encounter them much in my "neck of the woods" either; lots more Hardtops than Clubmans. But one of the few Clubmans I have encountered was a factory JCW as well...!

Well, this morning was quite a surprise. driving to work there were 3 clubmans . (3 CLUBMANs or should i say 3 Clubmen), including mine, on three different lanes. AWESOME. one was the base, then a cooper s and then my jcw. UNBELIEVABLE. wish somebody was there to take the picture.

I am not sure if i missed a forum or its not mentioned here. Did you guys hear about the mini vs 911 on June 21? Check out the attachments.

Cool! Aside from a MINI dealership, I don't think I've seen more than two Clubmans/Clubmen together... Looks like you filled out the spectrum!

Hmmm. Interesting. Where is that being held?

Hadn't heard about the challenge myself. It would not seem to be a "fair fight" on the surface (particularly using a Cooper S rather than a JCW Hardtop) -- but that's probably the point entirely: another of MINI's quirky marketing ploys, for which they are well-known. I've got to think MINI is going to play to it's strong suit and make this a heavy turning duel (i.e., few, if any, straight-line sprints) if it has any hope of winning the challenge. And even if the Cooper S loses, but if it sells a few MINI's to those who recognize that the MINI held its own against a Porsche, then probably "mission accomplished" as far as MINI is concerned...

I ran across the MINI VS Porsche thing in another thread, it is being held at VIR if Porsche shows up. Not being much of a fan of the newer rear engined compensation for not having fun when you where younger cars, I hope MINI has thought this one out and brought something other than a stock Cooper S.
May the best car win (front wheel drive and all)
